Hey boys,
I've got about four other mates who have got vl turbos, including myself...
so all i have to do is give em a call of the date its gonna happen and im sure theyll come down for a cruise to the 'gong.
There's Myself red calais, a silver commo/calais, red calais, silver commo, white bt1, blue non turbo commo... and im sure they have more mates.
It's word of mouth that helps get a better and bigger cruise.
So someone state the date!
My Suggestion:
24th November 2002.
VL to 'Gong Cruise.
Meet at Homebush Stadium in the carpark next to the Train Station (off Australia Ave).
Requirements are bring yours and your mates VL down.
Lets get it happening, huh?

OK, so far we're getting a bit of feedback from a few VL owners about this cruise from Sydney to Wollongong.
The 24th has been agreed upon by many people so at the moment it looks surprisingly good.
We need to agree on a meeting point, probably somewhere in the centre of Sydney... or where a lot of cars head out to on the weekend (eg. the beaches Brighton/Bondi). Homebush Bay is also a good place since its spacious, and plenty of parking for the mass of VLs that are to come lol
Now, the day is obviously a Sunday and time to meet - let's say 10-11AM?
Now, if you have mates, even faint acquaintences that you know have VLs... let them know because the more the merrier.
I have thrown these suggestions into the air and by Saturday I'll submit the final confirmation so no one is confused about whats happening. So if you have something constructive to add, do it by all means!!!
Confirmation to be submitted for date of VL to 'Gong Cruise: Saturday 16th November
Suggested Date & Time: Sunday 24th November @ 10:00AM for a 11:00AM drift-off.
Currently Suggested Meeting Places (Starting Point):
- 2nd Carpark after President Ave & The Grand Pde intersection, Brighton Le Sands. Car park is opposite Solander And Robinson St (UBD™ page no. 294 grid ref. Q6)
- End of Anzac Pde Circle, La Perouse (where the old runs used to be next to Bare Island) (UBD™ page no. 296 grid ref. P14)
- One of the parking lots @ Australia Ave, Homebush Bay (next to Olympic Stadium train station) (UBD™ page no. 212 grid ref. N16)
- You can type these addresses above at www.whereis.com.au and view the maps of the meeting places for yourself.

18-11-02, 03:20 GMT+10#13 Guys, I dunno how this may come across to yas but I personally would want to extend this cruise by a week to Sunday 1st December. Simply my boss wont give me the day off even after telling him Ive organised sumfin long time ago. (BTW I do shift work)
Now if you guys cant be bothered postponing it for a week, I say go along and have fun this Sunday coming. The whole reason I wanted to organise this cruise was to attend & take my own car down, without having to rely by jumping in someone elses or hearing stories.
What I can confirm is that it will be a Homebush meet at 10am and by the looks of it some big motors might be coming down.
Therefore since no date is confirmed, I pledge to you to allow a week extra... please!!! It also allows me some more time for handing out info to onroad VL drivers.

VL Summer Drift
Date: (Suggested) Sunday 1st December 2002 (please read above and let me know)
Confirmed Info
Times: 10:00AM MEET and 11:00AM(SHARP) DEPARTURE. If your late, your just gonna have to catch up down the road or at the 'Gong.
Requirements: Bring your car or jump along in your mates, cash for food etc, any cars preferably VL Turbos, wash the car beforehand If you see cars getting stuck at traffic lights, pull over and let them catch up. The whole idea is to have a big VL cruise.
Meeting Place: One of the parking lots @ Australia Ave, Homebush Bay (next to Olympic Stadium train station) (UBD™ page no. 212 grid ref. N16) or try www.whereis.com.au
Route: We start from Australia Ave Homebush Bay. We then lead the convoy down the straight road from Centenary Drv thru to Roberts Rd thru to King Georges Rd until we reach Princes Hwy at Blakehurst and follow it thru Sylvania and Sutherland and then onto the freeway to Marine Drv Wollongong Beachside. We will turn the place into a little Wollonats
Weather: If it is raining at 9:30AM Sunday Morning and doesn't look like stopping whole thing is called off. Reason being is that LSD, Power and Wet don't mix. Hopefully, its a nice summer day.
