Will the 5speed off a RB25DET blot straight onto the RB30ET ? or will it require modification ? Also does anyone know how much power approx these can handle ??

i beleive it bolts in but can't confirm. they can take a fair hammering, a bloke i know's had his r32 on 18 pound for short bursts and it handled it fine. infact, the motors shat itself due to head corrosion and the box is good... both are coming out in favour of RB25. its coming out next week i beleive so if you're serious gimme your details and i'll be in touch.

appologies i read it again and realised you're after a 25, not the 20. I don't know figures but i do know the RB25 box takes a hammering.

As for the box fitting it bolts straight in as does the starter. If u are changing from auto to manual u will also need speedo drive etc.I had a custom tailshaft made up to handle extra power in the future.U can use a atmo 5 speed box crossmember but u will have to weld of piece of alloy to the side of the gearbox so that u can align the slave cylinder into the right position. As for power rating i remember one behind a 600hp vl in zoom a while ago. Good luck if u have any other questions pm me Cheers

It is a straight bolt in conversion! There are only 2 external differences, 1. the slave cyl has a different mount, make sure the 25 box has it's slave! 2. the g/b is 8mm longer, this doesn't cause a prob. Internally they have larger syncros and different ratios to the MX7 g/b.
