I was wondering if anyone who is blessed with a tacho can enlighten me how many revs my car is doing at 70km/h in first gear, it is an auto with stock gearing. Cheers, Craig.

hey craig did u check that afm? Um have u hit the rev limmiter yet? When i borrowed my friends vl, i took it to 60 kmh in first and it was up about 5400 i think.

Hey Nick.. yeh checked the AFM, I beleive shes stuffed... so waiting on a mate to give me another one if you still want one? Nah, don't take it up to the limiter I don't think, about 70km/h in first is as far as I'll really take it, had it about 75-80km/h before but it was starting to lose momentum, just un-sure on revs I fixed my kickdown switch on the auto with a piece of garden hose and a hose clamp hehe, works a treat. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

I think from memory 70km/h in 1st with my auto was around 5,500. With the manual though, 70 in 1st would be bouncing off th revlimiter. I didn't realise that they had one till i got the 5 speed, and was sideways 8)

70 in the manual is about 5000rpm isn't it, thats what mine says.

70 in the manual, in first... I'll be changing into second at around 50-60 at around 5500rpm..

i know that you can get the stocko 6 auto upto 80 in first probly upto 90 but ive only had it up to 80, then the AFM **** it self, something blew a hole straight through the mesh, it was pretty funny, except when i got the bill

auto definately goes further in first then the manual did in the n/a 6's..

getting my 5psd was the best mod I've done so far...

damn shame they are so expensive though, somebody should put up alternatives, or a list with rough prices or something like that..

speed costs money... there is heaps on how much stuff costs for the conversions, do a search on it. go through the old for sale stuff too.... been a few 5spd conversion going though there.

I know its all in here, but I'm thinking it would be really good if it was all centralised, people have done R33 gearbox's etc.. but anyway. Just an idea

Would be damn good to have some centralised information, except it takes a lot of time/work. I guess its bound to happen eventually though...
