I'm thinking of giving my N/A VL a little more poke, and stumbled across this web page - http://www.sure-cam.com/web%20ready/Nissan%20RB30.htm
The cam I'm interested in is the 'HX112' profile no., has anyone had any experience with one of these? I'd also put in the HP4 chip and upgrade the lifters, already got extractors, pod filter, exhaust system. How much power at the wheels should I expect?
BTW, my car is an auto, would the gearbox be up to the power increase, and can I keep the stock stall convertor?
Cheers, Craig.
The cam that is in my car atm is close to the HX112 profiles - and without either a manual gearbox, or a stally of about 2500 - its gonna be a slug down low (trust me)... but it sounds bloody good on idle
also to get the most out of the cam, some adjustable cam gears will go far.
Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
hey dude i've got that cam and the chip etc. It sounds tough.
You have to get your gearbox modified, i got a 2800 stall. It is a slug off the line without the hi stall converter. Also you will change from P to D and you car will stall and generally be a pain in the arse.
My cars never been dynoed. The programming on the chip is from a car that made 115kw at the wheels.
The HX112 is a big cam, you need to modify your lifter housings, and the gearbox. it gets expensive.
You are better off financially sticking the HX109 in and a set of valve springs. Strong low and mid RPM power, it won't have the top end, but it will be good on the street.

hahah dont i know about that... manifold vacumm sits at a low 10 psi on idle.. should be able to fix that up a bit (although not back to where it should be on between 20 - 25 psi) when the cam gets dialled in properly.. hehe..
