who would win in a straight line drag verses a stock rb30 and a stock ecotec v6?

I'm guessing the ecotec.

ecotec by 4-5 car lengths.

rb30 is smoother though

Ecotech are pretty decent... They would beat a stocko vl.. but a fair bit 3 car lengths

my bros old vl (5 speed, high range cam, headers, highflow exhaust, air filter etc) still couldnt keep up with our vt II (5 speed)

how bout against the vn, vp and vr v6's how do our trusty old rb30's go there.

Ok COMPLETE stock RB30E VL versus a COMPLETE Stock VS Ecotec... the Ecotec would win by around 2 car lengths... the VL is alot lighter. I do know that a VL with no back seat, extractors, zorst and K&N can run a 15.93. I also proved last night that a stock VS ecotec on BP Ultimate can run a consisten 16.2 pass, with the lowest being a 16.183 So basically with cheap mods a VL will beat a stock VS easily.

not my brothers... vn v6 manual little bits of work, beats vl's, 5ltrs, gen 3's, au xr8 III, non-turbo supra... no sh!t either i have been in the car and/or witnessed all these Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

how much work on this vn Iwanavlt i mean beating a vl is one thing but beating gen3's and xr8's? :? my88vl is this a manual or auto vl ur talking about that ran 15.93

Both auto's.... and in my opinion, a 15.93 for an atmo auto VL is ****in good.

id have to agree thats a very nice time from an auto have to test mine out when i get my p's only prob theres only like 2 street drag meets a year down here. :cry:

I can post about my experiences on the topic. When i had my stock auto NA, i couldn't keep up with VN V6's. When i converted to 5 speed, advanced the timing a little, and removed air flow mesh, i now kill them. (yet to run a 5 speed tho) Since that i have beaten a VR V6 aswell. And can nearly keep up with a 5.0. (tried a VP 5.0 and a VQ statesman) How ever i've also been killed by a 6cyl VH - not standard :/ the front of my car was level with the boot on a VT v6 once too. With my car it comes down to how you launch it. Too soft and it bogs down, and they get the jump. launch it just right, and they will be seeing my tail lights. (It pisses VN owners off being beaten by a VL, they alway speed past me and cut me off when i beat them for some reason.[/list]

vn's r gay sorry if any1 here owns one of them but they r just ****e they prolly think just cause there cars newer (not much) they should be able to beat us but from what some of my mates with vl's say none of them have been beaten by a vn v6 auto or manual p.s- the people im talkin about all drive auto's.

I've also only been beated by one other N/A vl since my manual conversion. beaten a few other 5 speeds. The one that beat me was also manual, but had a port and polished head. ( i knew the guy)

yeh, my mums VT || wagon V6 (standard) can keep up with my dads VR Clubsport Wagon witha 355 stroker and 232rwkW......... hmmmm NOT

my mates old mans auto VX berlina (read: v.heavy) hoses my mates exec VL auto... vl sounds better tho dunno bout smoother but? ecotec has heapsa torque for the car it is Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
