I am querying on the part number listed for a VL turbo fuel pump, the other topic is now locked because someone took someone elses advice as gospel. I have an article here and it lists p/n 0 580 464 033 as being for a non turbo VL,apparently the VL turbo fuel pumps flow more for bigger horsepower. I'd imagine that there are all different fuel pumps fitted to the N/A VL as I ripped a pump out of mine due to a faulty pressure relief valve (too much pressure) which has the p/n listed as 0 580 464 051,I don't know why they use different pumps in them as the previous VL I had we bought with a Holden Camira fuel pump fitted to it (good for 130 KW),it failed and we fitted one which flowed enough to feed a 5.7 litre Holden v8.(not Gen III). These are the specs for a non turbo pump,2.3 litres/min @40 PSI fuel pressure, rated @290 KW whilst under 40 PSI of fuel pressure. This would be safe to use on a "standard" VL turbo without any mods or adjustments, the safest way to size the pump is to thrash the car on a dyno and if no fuel comes out of the return line then the pump is too small. A lot of people seem to go for either the 6.9 litre Mercedes K - Jetronic pump or the Bosch motorsport fuel pump when going up in horspower, the cheapest alternative would be 2 second hand N/a Vl pumps connected in parallel.

i went to auto1 in sydney and they told me if u ask for a vl turbo fuel pump or a n/a fuel pump they would both be the same and the bloke showed me the catalogue where the part numbers are listed so i am guessing the n/a has something on the engine which reduces the flow of petrol maybe /???? can someone clear this up for me
