Hi All, Is there anyone out there that has had experience with fitting a gear drive set on a 308? I have been told that it is pretty straight forward. Is this the case? Is it possible to remove the harmonic balancer without the special tool to remove it? Also I have been told that when you get to the point of fitting the gears, you have to "dial in the cam" What does that mean? How would you do that? I am also aware that I may have to grind abit of the inside of the timing cover to fit the gear drive. I would greatly appreciate any feedback given to me Cheers Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

My brother and i tried to install the gear drives on his 308.. "tried" being the word.... we nearly stuffed it up, we were told it was easy but after a few hours we decided to take it to a professional to do it, it only took him an hour or so (not including tunning) so it didn't cost much, i'd suggest you do the same. Not worth stuffing it up, it will end up costing you more...
