I have a 400 watt amp but i think its pretty old and it lets you run 2 bridged or 4 single. it a has two gain control knobby things but isnt there supposed to be one to let you hook up a sub and play the bass, when i connect it it plays music thru the sub just like its a speaker. Please Help cos its not worth doing if i cant do it right..
If it's a 4 channel amp, you can run two subs from it. Make sure that you have them bridged properly, and there should be two little switches near the gain conrols that say HPF/LPF. If you're running subs make sure the slide is set to LPF. This stands for Low Pass Frequency, which means that only low frequencies (determined by the amp) can reach the sub, resulting in the doof doof sound
Enjoy!
true, or only one set of 2 channels (1 bridged) may only be able to run a low pass filter. Just check, post all of the switches and controls it has on the amp...what sort of amp is it btw??
Not all Amps that are Bridgeable have a Low/High Pass Crossover as well... And as you say that its an older Amp it might not have one, you'll need to use a seperate Low Pass Crossover then...
