Can't get one.
02 - Is the VKGroup3 Website down ?
not for me
03 - Can you get blue lights for the headlights or underneath them around the spoiler area if so how much and how.
yes, ask at autobarn or somewhere like that.
04 - Why do people think Vl's look better than the Vk's where the VK's look more moster looking , more chunky but in a good way.
Because VL's are better looking :P
10 - How much does it cost for special interior to be custom made for the whole car except the boot.
A lot. (more than what a VK is worth)
For the kits and bonnet scoops, it is best to ask around, and look for second hand ones, because new ones are very expensive. Also if you are buying a second hand kit, make sure it does fit properly first.

To answer most of them.... how long is a peice of string.
About VLs/Vk's... most people think the VL's are better because they do have a heap better engine, the have more refined lines and they are easy to make look good.
Putting any sort of body kit on a VK still makes it look old.

i agree with my88vl vks just seem to look alot older than vl's plus why the hell would u buy a vk 6 cylinder when u can get a vl with the rb30 engine.

1. I have seen a VK with a walky scoop, looked good but took alot of work to make it fit, something abt the curve of the bonnet, Ive got two pics of very nice VK's that you might want to look at, pm me with ur email if you want them,
5. try here for a few different kits http://www.fibrefab.com.au/index1.htm
8. Are you sure you want to buy a car for that much? anything your going to get is going to give you problems. But paint and rust are the biggest pains, I dont mind the other crap breaking as it can be upgraded,
9. How much hp you looking at getting?
actually email me at [email removed]

I am very opionated on this subject.
...I F*&KING HATE VK'S...
sure, i've owed two, but thats my reasons...
both of them had dash fires (not from dodgy wiring by me, but from factory) and they looked like utter ****e...
I have a 5.0litre VK calais at the moment and i can't wait to unload it..
I have a 5 spd VL and its better in every way to those smelly old vk's..
....also.... VL's go better, use less fuel, and are better looking ;)

and chicks like VLs too so if you buy a vk, don't expect to be picking up any good chicks

it'd look horrible if you managed to fit it, and would cost LOTS!
03 - Can you get blue lights for the headlights or underneath them around the spoiler area if so how much and how.
Neons? Not on a VK !
04 - Why do people think Vl's look better than the Vk's where the VK's look more moster looking , more chunky but in a good way.
Yeah, if done properly VK's look tough, but they need a V8 and lots of work
05 - How much for a Brock Body Kit

07 - How much for a Group A Body Kit
LOTS!
08 - What is the main info i should need to know when buying a Vk for around 600-1500 from classifieds ?
Wheels, engine, (rusted areas < painted areas), 308 V8 is the only engine worth getting.
09 - What tye of manual Gear box should i buy ?
Aussie 4 spd is what you'll be getting (don't miss reverse though, had be confused for a while)
11 - How much would a Scoop Bonnet cost for a VK.
not that much, but you risk turning the car even more bogan
I guess if you don't have that much to spend, go the VK, but for 3,000 or so you can get a decent VL with a heaps better engine.

09-12-02, 17:41 GMT+10#11 Still go for the vk and fit the rb30 and 5spd out of an vl they go better instandard from in a vk then in a vl, I get a lot of wierd looks and stupid questions when i open the bonnet such as "y ur engine say its a NISSAN" and the aftermarket bodykits dont cost too much i cam across and genuine vk grp 3 rear bar in the paper fro $60 so now i can say may car is hdt improved!! j/k

19-12-02, 16:43 GMT+10#13 Which VK models dont have the 2 tone paintjob (silver front/rear and side skirts), i know the Berlina's and Calais do and the SL/Exec's have that stupid black stripe along the side, but ive seen plenty about without these... so which model/s dont?
did that make sense ?

19-12-02, 20:06 GMT+10#14 vkgroup3.com had better not be down!!!
but seriously, it's all working fine. As it's histed offshore you do get the occasional probs but certainly nothing long term
A kit would cost you around $1200 -$1500 for non genuine depending on how may parts.
A walkinshawy kit wouldn't look good on a vk. Boot shape is wrong and the VK is angular in the fron compared to the round shape of the VL so you will be trying to match up two different shapes. Doesn't work. Look at a VK group 3 bonnet scoop on a VL or Later (yes i've even seen one on a VT - YUK - sorry to anyone who has one) aand it just doesn't suit with the different lines.
Not a fan on neon's either, sorry dude.
I think the group 3 is the best for the VK, but that's my opinion and we all know how much that's worth.
I'd definitely look at an enegine swap in you were gonna buy a VK as the pushrod 202 carby donk is out of date. Go for something EFI, possibly turbo. Will be much nicer to drive and not a 4 speed! (or 3 speed auto) which is what VK's come with. You can get a 5 speed VK but they are pretty rare.

22-01-03, 12:53 GMT+10#15 Any good body shop/spoiler shop should be able to fit one to the VK.
It would involve a bit of cutting and adjusting here and there, but could be done.
If you are in qld, give ares speed a call, they are great with fibreglass and do many custom kits - you may then get something unique insted?
I would think that this would cost a fair bit though.
The group A and group 3 fronts are pretty good, but they aren't as low as the walkinshaw front.
It may be cheaper to by a group A Front and get a lip added to the bottom to give a better and more walkinshaw look. Maybe?
I think that the vk looks ok from the factory, and better with a front spoiler and decent mags.
Subtle enough to be ignored by the police and RTA but still sporty enough to be looked at by others .

only those with vl's think they look better, they were rushed out when Holden had to make a car with an unleaded motor. Just read most of the comments by those with a vl and you realise the vl is just an oversize riceburner with a holden badge.

08-03-03, 07:01 GMT+10#18 As a bogan, I resent that comment. VKs are ugly, wouldn't been seen dead paying for one. Just look blocky and crap.

08-03-03, 21:02 GMT+10#19 The Vk is ugly to some but tough looking to others, beats the hell out of being bland like the Vl and before anyone goes off too much I have a Vl Berlina sitting in the driveway. Not to far from the Vk Berlina. If all you can say is the Vl is it such a great car because it has the RB30. So did the Nissan Skyline and it was a better all round package. Vk catching fire? Yes Holden said there was a possibility in earlier air conditioned models and recalled them to rectify. They should have a sticker on front pillar drivers door opening to say this has been done and wouldn't the people who designed, manufactured and installed the wiring on the VK done the VL giving them the same problem???????
I got a bodykit for the VK for $350 from the wreckers just keep looking. (front & rear bars, rear spoiler, side skirts and grille.
All 6 cyl vk's came with dodgy gearboxes (auto and manual)
All standard V8 were supposed to have the M21 (close ratio) and LSD
And finally remember it's your car, do what you want, everyones opinion on what is and isnt right counts for nothing. (this post included)
