I think CLowndes was using it as an excuse. The engine actually blew up after they had stopped to pull the plastic bag out..........
I'd also like to point out that the MHRT cars were FIRST, THIRD and FOURTH, nearly can't get better than that!!!!!

True, but it's not much of a consilation prize for Ford.
Winning a lap is one thing, winning a RACE is an entirely different thing.

Congratulations to Holden even though I would prefer a Ford to win Bathurst, I can't stand the "****head" mentality of some one eyed Holden fans, like the year Richards and Skaife won in the Nissan GTR.
Yeah those plastic bags were a bloody nuisance to all race competitors.

I had the missus (who knows NOTHING about V8 Touring cars) goin for Lowndes cos it looked good. Lets just say she didn't talk to me when i laughed my ass off to see him in the sheds because of a plastic bag.

yeah Jim Ritchards speech was a bit different to the one in '92.
I reckon the new BA race car looked real nice.
What do you's think of the "blueprint project". - for those who dont know the cars next year will be nearly identical except for the engine and the shell (Holden/Ford)???

Go the Holdens, can't wait to see the VY commodore, the BA actually looked alright for a ford.

surprise surprise. hrt won again. i wouldn't care if anyone else in a holden won, but not him!! it is so boring, it is just like F1 and Shumacher!! I would also like Ford to get up as well. Purely for the excitement factor, and seeing some actual 'racing'!!
Well done to them, but i mean if I pumped $30 million into a team, I'm sure they'd win as well. Long live money. ahaah

At least it's not just me then. Lowndes' airtake was fully covered by the bag, Skaife's had some way for Air to get through.

I think it was that the engine had aleady started to overheat, and by the time the bag was removed it was already too hot and the damage was done. I think you guys are pretty ignorant to be baggin (ha ha no pun intended) Lowndes, he was doing pretty well until mechanical problems set in - especially when you consider he is driving a Ford.
I don't think Blueprint matters at all anyway - at first I was thinking it was fully ****, then it doesn't matter if Ford or Holden win. Then I figured who gives a **** anyhow. V8 Supercars share two parts with roadgoing Falcon/Commdores - The shell and the DashPad. So I don't know why the hell you are going on about "Yaay, Holden won!" When they don't even have any Holden parts in them - even the engines are Chev 5 litres. Larry Perkins was the last to win Bathurst with an aussie 308.
Bring back Homolgation Racing! Screw blueprint! Then GTs will be real GTs again, and GTSs have the right to also wear the badge the way it was intended....

I can't recall people saying that the "GEN III" won Bathurst, nor in previous races that "308" won Bathurst. Or "351" in the rare occasion!
Maybe these "one eyed Ford fans" should pull their **** out of their own arses and think a little..... The reason that Holden won Bathurst was because it was HOLDEN'S decision to employ the GEN III as the same it was using the 308. Holden won the race not the GEN III and definitely not the ****ing FORD.
Lets not talk about keeping it Australian when the ford freaks can't remember where the **** the 351's come from!
