Is there any way to test a Sub without having an amp. Also with boxes if you have two 10' subs do you have the one box or two. what is better two 10's or a 12.. do the boxes have to be a certain size? Thanks. From a wannabe carpenter. Also what perspex should i use.................... Hey I know.... Can anyone tell me how to make a BOX.

If you're just testing a sub, you can run it off a speaker channel temporarily to see if it works, but only do that if its for no more than 10 seconds sorta thing, and not at high volume. If you want to see how full on it can go, you need an amp. As for the box, if you want 2 10" all you need to do is build a box with the right volume for your two sub, and then put a sheet of MDF between each section equally matched for the same volume... 2 10's or 1 12 is going to sound similar anyway, it just depends on personal preference and how much boot space you have. 2 10" boxes will take up more room than one 12" box. And for box dimensions, there is a few peices of software around. Just h ave a look on www.caraudioaustralia.com.au or do a search on google.

No you're right on the money VL Commy, You will need to have a divider between the 2 subs. All you need to do i work out the dimensions of the box to suit the sub and volume required, double the length of the box and add 18mm for a sheet of 18mm MDF to divide it off.
