what are the differences and it is worth spending extra to get a vp over a vn, if so why?
thanks

Well they both look crap and don't drive much better but all that asside, the VP doesn't look as crappy as the VN.
They have the same engine which is an old Buick pushrod 3.8L V6.
The VP's would have had some of the initial bugs ironed out after the release of the engine (in the VN).
They also had a couple of extra gimics.

a VN Series II is not too bad... considering after they ironed out all the bugs from the series I, there's not much difference between the two cars only mostly the styling.

the only holden i would want is either a vl or else a vs or higher also if i got a vn itd be one of them hsv statsmans there cool. but if u ask me the vn and vp are both pretty average looking cars . any1 know what a vn or vp v6 is like compared to a the rb30.
also what has faster 0-100 and 0-400 vn or vl im guessing itd have to be the vn cause its newer but with a few mods like the 1ns i have exhaust pod filter about 70,000ks old rebuilt motor would i be able to beat a stoko vn or vp.

yeah im not a fan at all of the styling but i saw a few nice wagons around and one of them wouldn't be too bad,
how do they go petrol wise compared with a n/a vl?
also what about the used based on the vn, what are they called and what do they tend to go for?
thanks guys.

a wagon could be cool prolly fairly heavy though if u were thinking of having a bit of performance. also from what iv seen the wagons are selling for more than sedans if thats a worry to u duno if its like that every where though.

Its CRAP... they need the ecotec to be any good at all. Slow, noisy, and get the death rattle at 250,000 which most of them are close to now

The VL will every time... the VN's and VP's are slow old things.

They're **** on fuel... unless you get a VS onwards, anything with the pushrod V6 is gonna be crap on fuel. A VL is heaps better for fuel.

19-10-02, 13:38 GMT+10#13 My brother in law has a nicely done up VP Berlina. Doesn't even come close to my Group A VL turbo, but he can get 600km from a tank.
Group A VL turbos with a 5 speed kill anything!!!

A mate and I took a VS V6 and a VLT to Queensland some years ago.
There was nothing in it between the VLT and the VS...0-100 or 60-160 trust me
Fuel economy wise the VP or the VS will use HEAPS less fuel than the n/a VL. This is one of the best points about the V6...the great fuel ecomony. A V6 can get around 800kms out of a tank on a trip...try doing that with a VL.
The VS ecotec is still a pushrod engine so what are you talking about??? The V6 is basically the same from the VN-VY just more internal refinements.
Yes the V6 gets rattles and isn't as refined as the VL engine but will go forever just like the VL.
I have a VP Calais V6 and five VLT's at this time, had VS and VNs before so I have plenty of experience re fuel economy and performance.
