ok well, my car ran ****house then just wouldn't go this morning. it'll turn over no problem. when in neutral (manual) it won't actually start. when in 1st, with clutch in and giving a little accelerator, it jussst starts, blows a little light coloured smoke, but when i let the clutch out to drive it just stalls. the last few days every now and then it would like chug/cut out for only like a second (ie. i lost power for a second). this seemed to mainly happen when giving it a bit going up a bit of a hill, but at no real particular revs. it also did this chugging when taking off from a couple of speed humps doin like 35km/h in 2nd and wasn't on a hill then.
my fuel pump (im assuming its the high-pressure external one, cos i wouldn't think the low-pressure one would make such a noise) has been noisy since i bought the car (6months or so) but in the past month it has been even louder. i was thinking maybe the fuel pump had gone, but wanted to see if people think otherwise.
its not on gas or anything, just normal n/a 6.
i don't think its electrical cos its starts and goes a tiny bit and all. i had the CAS replaced only a few months ago.
ok, im done  thanx for any help!

Yeah sounds most likely a fuel problem. Replace your external fuel pump and the filter. Check the filter first make sure its in the right way around! Apart from that it could possibly be your AFM, so check that out also!! Run a self diagnostic test on it and see what it returns....
thanx for the reply morgz. yeah well that afternoon i started her up again. started well, not coughing and all, and i sat there giving it a good rev. seemed pretty much all good. i now think it was probably a blockage in the fuel line, which isn't great either. because lately, being a uni student and all, funds aren't sky high, so i know the fuel red empty line quite well. i think the pum,p just picked up sum crap from bottom of tank. now i'm just hoping the bolckage doesn't turn up sum where near the injector end of the fuel line.
all good for now 8)
Ahh, all is good then!! Hope the prob dont come back on ya!
I know the feeling of being very low on the $$$ Being a student myself running the car on a oily rag putting a few dollars in it here and there :?
