Try turning the gains down on the amp if there is too much bass.

too much bass and too loud are different things, i mean you can't hear anything but the bass, i was thinkin if i mounted tweeters it'd give a better sound not just doof doof doof

julien... 2 ways i'd have a go at this... play with the amp frequency settings... have a bit of a muck around while ur playn a song... u'll hear the differences then straight away., then i'd think about buyin the capacitors for ur 6*9s that cut the bass out of them.... u want treble from ur rear shelf speakers as the subs are doin the lower frequencies (bass)...
ive done this to mine, and i got a mate to just do that to his.... unless u have splits in ur rear shelf already this seems to be a good idea... u'll notice a difference..... also with 6*9s its said that the bass from then can interfear with the bass of the subs... so in theory ur subs may run harder once they are done....
talk 2 u online anyway..
cheers

I have 2 12" subs also, i find that if you turn the bass down on your 6x9s and front splits that youll get better sound. Try turning the gain down. OR. only have one sub.

ok let me try and go more in depth as im unsure some of you have the right idea. the sound inside the car is good, but while it's on show with the boot open the bass is too loud, anyone thought of adding tweeters into the boot to balance it out for a show car?

12-10-02, 14:06 GMT+10#10 OK....you will have to change your gain settings when you have your car on show with the boot open....turn the gain down on the subby channel and up the gain on your speaker channels.....Your speakers obviously arent keeping up with the subby volume wise....
But you always can put a couple of 6x9"s in the boot or even a couple of 6"ers if you really wanted to....

13-10-02, 11:54 GMT+10#11 You could always try and fit a set of 4" speakers or sumfin mounted into the boot lid. Make sum custom pods and a nice covering for the rest of the boot lid to hide the wires? who knows it could work?

20-10-02, 17:53 GMT+10#13 get a better amp first....
i reckon buy a really good 2 channel and bridge it into the 2 subs... use the 4 channel u got now bridged into the splits.....
just check that they can take the rms wattage that the amp can put out when bridged into 2 channels....
cheers
