I'm thinking about buying some mags to replace my crappy ones I have at the moment I'm going for some 17's I think, maybe 16's if the budget won't extend that far, but basically i'll try and get a mag + wheel package I think. Will I have to get the gaurds rolled? I already have 2.5 inch lowering springs in there, and it would get pretty close i reakon! I do have the origional springs at home, but they're saggy and ****e and it would be like driving a 4WD. Any other things? Like will having drum brakes at the back be a hassle with fitting them... I'm looking at mags like VR Clubsports, VT SS, etc Thanks, and if anyone knows of any good deals/2nd hand ones give me a shout Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Just to give u some idea of sizes, I have 16x8's rims, 225/50R16 tires and a just below legal height, they clear suspention parts by bout 15mm closest, gurds are rolled, rears only scrub if there are three fatties in the back on a bumpy road, on the bump stops in other words! U can put 17s or 18s on, just depends on tire profile.

Also keep an eye on the offset of the rims, I have a set of Momo HDT 16 x JJ7.5 Group A wheels with 215/50/r16 tyers, gards are not folded and thay dont rub, 225/50/r16 do just, I have the lowest springs from pedders with an ajustable panhard rod......The offset will make a big difference!!

offset makes the biggest difference. MY 17s i dont think have the greatest offset cause they still scrub on occasions with a bootful and passengers. I found that mine scrubs closer to the rear of the arch (where guard meets bumpers) so rolling your guards may not do anything. My rear wheels are just slightly covered by the arch and also have adj panhard rod. best is to fit and see, there is no other way cause all wheels vary

I have a set of 17's on my car fitted with 235's and they rub heaps even with the guards lipped. Having lowered with age standard suspension probably doesn't help either though. As everyone has said already it all comes down to offset and the width of the rim.
