The small 90 degree piece of pipe that goes between the rocker cover and the air intake has broken, well the plastic piece that the pipe fits onto on the intake pipe has broken to be exact....Can i just take that pipe out and block it or run the pipe to a breather tank??? (blocking it off at the intake pipe only) Or shall i just get a new intake pipe piece??

But it effects the vacuum no?? Its gunna suck air through the broken part, the AFM isnt going to meter that air flow. I spose it isnt going to have a major effect on the engine but still....?

best is to bung the hole in the plenum and tee the hose into the where the other breather hoes goes. the "screw in" PCV valve can play up and mess with your fuel metering when it leaks anyway. dont buy a new hose, they are like over $40 bucks from holden

The same hoses can be bought for half the price at a Nissan Dealer. Corsa

If its the little L shaped hose that comes from the rocker cover to the black intake piping, then i'd be replacing it. I had mine crack when i was mucking around with the intake piping and it caused so much hassle. Mainly a rough idle because the air mixture was out. Anyway i got a replacement part from a wrecker for like $25.

$25!!!! u crazy man! go to Marlows and in their shelves, they have odd pieces of pipe... i bought a Z piece of pipe that was suited for fuel but it doesnt matter that much... cut it in half and 20 mins and $8 later, its all fixed

Its not the actual pipe piece that is stuffed, the pipe is fine, its just the little plastic piece the pipe fits onto the comes off the intake has snapped off once apon a time and someone had epoxyd it back on but didnt do a very good job....

Yeah thats what it was that happened to me... I just had to replace that intake piping there because i'd been stuffing around with the air box and twisted the intake pipe the wrong way. You should just be able to get one from a wrecker.

Gents, If you need any hoses for the RB30E motor your best bet is to go to nissan spare parts as they shelf stock most hoses for that motor. I know from experience having owned a Vl and a R31 Skyline. The nissan hoses are a much better design. Such as the breather hose your are talking about. It split on my Vl and I went to nissan and it cost me like $6.00 brand new. Holden on the other hand said the part was no longer available. Cheers, JR Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Thanks for the replies. But if i dont wanna replace the intake piece could i just block it off on the intake piping and leave the breather open on top of the rocker cover or run a pipe to a breather tank?????
