you need paint stripper and elbow grease (lots) to get rid of the laquer all over first. either do all the grooves, or keep the stripper completely out of them, cos they have grey paint in them and look funny if u accidentally strip some of the paint off. I just did the faces of mine. That was enough work! (the middle disks are laquer free from the factory). Then use the autosol. This will polish the wheels but u won't get rid of the grooves. if u want the mirror finish you need to go to a polisher who puts it on a machine. ~$60 to $80 a wheel for that. cheaper to sell online and buy a set from the mag shop pre polished.

it all depends on how shiny you want them to be..... if you want them to be able to see yourself then yeh of course it would be easier to get someone else to do it... but if you just want them to look half decent then yeh get the autosol out and use some elbow grease....

I tryed the autosol on the first day i bought my calais. Me being stupid, didn't even ask how or what to do. Found out of a polisher that you have to take the clear coatting of first to get the mirror finsh. You can't even notice the difference with autosol and a rag. I think what most people are saying about getting some one qualified is the way to go!!!

hence my post about removing the laquer with stripper. the laquer goes stale and brittle and thats why they look ****. once thats gone you can get a great polish with aotosol, you just won't get the mirror look without removing the grooves.

If you pay cash, more often than no the price will drop again slightly. Used to pay $30 each, now $25/20 depending on the number i have ready to go.

I polished mine myself .It took me about 5 hours for each wheel. I used wet and dry sand paper to get the groves out which takes for ever. And then just polised them up.
