the diff in my vl makes a sickening grinding noise when turning slowly or going over a speedhump slowly. Sounds like its on its way out. only makes these sounds after a bit of a warmup drive....say an hr or so. what could be the problem?

It might just be low on diff oil man... as u turn a corner or somethin there might be inadequate lubrication of the gears. take the filler plug off and with a piece of wire bent at 90 degrees, check the level of the fluid in there... it is supposed to be just inline with the bottom of the filler hole. hopefully just a top up or a clean out and top up will solve your problem. gaskets are about 3 buks, if ur up to the task of takin the cover off and having a visual inspection of it. goodluck man.
