I know those engine produce about 114kw (from memory) I was wondering what I could do to push to get more KW. And what is the highest KW/Hp on a RB30E motor (Automatic Transmission). I haven't seen any VL commodores with alot of power in a auto. Please do not say 'Manual Conversion'. I just want to try and get alot of power out in a auto VL commodore. I don't even want to hear turbos... NOS... Might be possible.... nothing's impossible So guys.. I need some brain work here Thanks Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Mate if you're not prepared to go for a turbo or NOS, then it kinda leaves you to the usual mods, being - Exhaust (Extractors to), Cold Air, and maybe a cam swap. Other than that, there isn't a great deal you can do to an N/A but who knows, maybe someone else here knows more.

As I said.. NOS might be possible. But I don't think RB30E motors are suitable for NOS or I could be wrong?

The motors work quite well with nitrous. The auto gearbox does not. Its a lot of money to spend on an illegal mod, that u can't use all the time.

Yeah i agree with Lobe Grinder.... after speaking with someone in depth about NOS, its just not worth the money. You basically have to strengthen the box, and possibly the head to. You can only really run 100shot anyway. All that aside, its illegal and pretty dangerous in the hands of someone who isn't experienced with it. You get a really big shock when you punch the on button for it thats for sure. You'd be better spending the money on some other things that you can get more use out of on the street.

The first step would be to get rid of that rotten automatic straight away, they are a heavy piece of crap which saps the power which would be more useful in driving the rear wheels. That would yield about 6 kw extra at the rear wheels without touching the motor, also has a lot more torque than the auto, there is definitely a noticeable difference when you turf out the auto,as I mentioned also the manual transmission is a far lighter unit than the automatic which would also give you a better power to weight ratio, not much but every little bit is worth it.
