Sorry to drag up an old post guys but i just thought id let ya's know that the centre console and shifter bolt straight in, its abit tight between the seats but it fits. The bolts holes line straight up, the only thing is your left with is abit of a gap at the front, im going to try and make up a fibre glass section for there. But for now i might just whack abit of painted wood or something there just to tidy it up. I had to change the location for the new shifter with the different centre console also. The VN shifter comes up from more on the right side as apposed to the left side on the VL, so basically i ripped out the VL one and bolted the VN one to the right side of the bracket. The VN centre console wont fit with the VL shifter in place so the VN shifter has to used or move the VL one to the right. Ill put some pictures up soon as i tidy afew things up and give it a paint.

Good work mate! Thats what you always wanted to do wasn't it? Good to see that someone attempted both conversions as well, it will be good to see the pictures. I will be getting some pictures of mine as well pretty soon as I have just bought a Digital Camera (About time too) Wait and see... 8) Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

i wasnt going to do both at the same time but a friend of mine is wrecking a VN Commodore (its a VP actually) so i grabbed all the parts off him. I put the console in first then realised the VL shifter was in the wrong place so had to adapt the VN shifter to the right side. One problem with the way i put the shifter in is that the gate cant be used, the thing that makes it stay in gear, it doesnt slip out or nothing. It doesnt concern me but someone else could probably sort it out. All it means is that you can go through the gears without pulling the lever up 8) Ive got it all pulled out atm and the original VL stuff back in, i just trying to track down some VHT Burgandy Satin vinyl spray paint to match the rest of my interior. It will probably take acouple days i cant seem to find anymore of that colour vinyl spray in Rocky so i might have to order some.

sorry if its been asked already ( icant be bothered reading through the last 2 pages) but would it be easy enough for the vn/vp centre console fit if it was manual? or would it be to much f*cking around?

Dont know dude, it would probably fit, just as long as the gear stick goes through in the right place.
