I have just have my original timing belt replaced with a new one (138 000 k's on the clock) and since i've had it back from the mechanic it's had a wierd problem. When you first go to accelerate, the initial slight opening of the throttle it revs funnily and hessitates, then takes off. This problem is annoying when you have slowed down for a corner, and go to accelerate slowly, it revs roughly (for like a split second) and then picks up speed. You could almost describe it as a delay - you accelerate, then one sec latter it goes.. if that makes sense? This problem is not apparent at crusing speeds. any have any ideas? Thanks

ive had that happen. its from retarded cam timing i believe. check your ignition timing if you can (possibly that) but i had that happen when i dialled in a little retard with my adjustable cam gear. sound like he put the belt on a tooth out.

I bet he used a max ellery manual, the idiots have printed the wrong info regarding the timing marks, they say 52 teeth but its actually 53 so id say they have retarded your timing.

funnily enough, 52 teeth means cam is further clockwise in relation to crank which means it is advanced...
