i cant decide! ive had dreams about vl turbos but when a mate of mine bought a Vq Statesman (5litre) and rocked up with it, it looks smick and sounded wikked too. i know a vl turbo with minor work done would kill the statesman but the statesman is a hell of a lot roomier and it has style (not saying a vl calais doesnt have style) but thats the thing... i cant seem to split the pros and cons between the two.... any help or opinions? this is planned for a car change at the end of the year with ~$7500 budget cheers

the VQ's were a nice car, but they're starting to show a few kays now, and the seem to develop some rattles and groans like any car of its age. The thing to be careful of is that you can get insurance and so on. The other thing is, you won't find much in the way of a VQ for $7500....

Yeah RooF is right, you can't really compare the performance of a VLT and a Statesman... The statesmans weigh a heap, and don't really move that fast, a VLT is lighter and VERY quick. For comfort, go the Statesman. In saying the VQ's are slow, i do have a mates who's old woman has a 10 sec VQ

yeah, basically wat everyone else has said, if you want performance, VL, a cruiser, luxo style.. go the VQ.. my mate has one and its awesome going on road trips.. its really comfy... but there is nothing wrong with the comfort factor of a VL calais either....

If you can find a vq stato in good cond. for $7500, tell me! Cos that would be a good buy, but I think you will struggle to find one 4 that price. The vq's r very comfortable especially the back seats. And as everyone else has said their is nothing wrong comfort wise in a calais tubo! At the end of the day it is ur choice. Cheers Kingyvl
