Wtf is wrong, I have no brake lights or dash lights but when i put my foot on the brake the brake lights and dash lights work but take the foot of the brake and nothing again, any help would be great.

so you do have brake lights? I had sort of the same problem, my headlights would turn on whenever I used the brake, went through every wire, every earth etc, ended up being a blinker bulb in the brake light socket, if it isnt that it will most likely be an earth.

I have a similar problem where when the head lights are on and i put my foot on the brake half the brake lights go out. I think its and earth problem. But what do i earth and where?!

In the boot there is a black wire in the tail light harness, splice into that and ground it, that should fix the problem

ive heard of weird things happening when ppl put the wrong bulbs in the wrong places.

all my brake light woe's on my old VL V8 were fixed by earthing properly as carcrazy said, common problem on the VL's :roll:

as dr00 siad quite often ppl will put a bulb with only one filament in it in the socket where a two filament bulb should be. the lights will still work , although when the car is turned off and you press the brake pedal , the brake lights will work and so will dash and the headlights. also check the earthing as this sometimes screws up too.

I had the same prob with mine not all workin, best way to fix it was to goto GMH and get a replacement taillight harness, mine was corroded and gave all the globes a bad earth, all good now

yea, when i first bought my vl whenever i braked the lights would come on and so would the dash lights. i checked all the globes and as it turned out the dikhead that owned it before me put normal 1 filament globes in there aswell.............as soon as i changed all the globes to brake globes, PROBLEM SOLVERED, so yea it is a common problem
