Sounds to me like its a problem in ya trannie not diff.....cuz if it does it at around that rpm in every gear then yeah it cant be the diff cuz its speed is just constantly increasing as gears go up...if you get what i mean... :?

R, I see! Now I understand, you see I am not very mechanically minded. So you think it's the transmission? Anything else it could be? Cheers Kingyvl

Well i'm back. And yes it squeeled like a pig! It still sounds to be coming from behind or close to me. If it is the tranny, what would be wrong with it? How much are they new? or reco? Cheers Kingyvl

stick your head under the bonnet and give it a rev and see if its the fan belt.

Highly unlikely its the fan belt if he first thought it was the diff! But its worth a check, give it a good rev with ya head under the bonnet and see where its coming from (or if it does it at all), if it doesnt do it with the bonnet up or while sitting in neutral then its somewhere before the drive gears in the trannie....if it does it only when driving, it will be in the gearing in the gearbox somewhere, if the squeeling isnt that loud i wouldnt worry too much about it but consider a trannie rebuild, also check transmission oil levels...

i dont know what you mean buy a sqeeling sound but just before my diff went, it was making a whining sound - like a high pitch noise. This was a constant noise and i think that if the noise is coming on at a particular rpm, i would guess it to be the tranny. Just a guess - im not a mechanic and what i have send or acknowledged can not be used as a legal statment. I am hereby not responsible for any opinion gathered from my words. Sorry, im tired Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
