I know there has been threads on buying tips before but this is a bit different.... what if your buying at auction or someone else is looking ata car for you.... what do ya look for... In this case you can't start the car so it makes it hard... so anyone got any advice on what to look at, for auto and manual VLT's ... A mate has come across VLT's a couple times in Melb and syd auctions but is uneasy as he doen't know what to look for and some places don't let you even start the cars!!! Cheers Guys Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

well id be VERY wary of buying a vl turbo from the auctions. sure it might not cost u much to start with, but in the long run i bet u it will cost u more. u have to wonder how they come to get there ... some young guy took a loan and couldn't pay it back so the car got repoed etc. about the only good ones would be the vl turbos grandad bought from new, has 60k on the clock and now he's died ;)

good point Sin... but my mate has also looked at damaged insurance cars... which can offer a mix of good and bad... although younger people are less likely to insure a VLT fully Comp.... So it still is a possibility although knowing little things to look for would be important... so any help would be appreciated.... although I think the ******* just wants to have a better car than mine Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

nah mate the turbo ain't for me!!!... a mate was looking at a couple at auctions but he wasn't allowed to start them..... I'm still gonna sell it... I've been busy lately... I'm in no real hurry cause I don't need a car until next year cause I graduate this year and start my job next year... so at the moment it sits in my garage for 4 days a week and then makes the 5km journey to work 3 times a week... it rarely sees adelaide as my Brother has a Lancer GSR which takes the driving duties on... But if someone was to come have a look and want it I would sell it cause I would be happy to sponge a car off my parents until I buy another one!!! Seriosly though... what do you think i should put it on the market for ... you bought one recently didn't you?? You can give me a fair Idea of what I should get for it... I reckon I should get about $6500... judging by what a decent one is in the trading Post... Anyway... yeah I'm just basically in no hurry... Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
