Last summernats people suggested we have a Club Display or even a group of VL turbos together at the nats... i should have a car entered next year, not sure what it will be yet, but im hoping.. We've spoken about all cruising up there 2gether from Melb and picking up those on the way.. I dare say it will happen..

I was discussing coming up with a few friends, we wouldn't be driving there though where do you guys think you'll stay the night? in ya cars or what? Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

yeah, there was a thread going a while ago about brissy ppl coming down and melb ppl coming up and all meeting up - anyone still keen on this, i thought it would be a good idea. Probably pretty hard to organise but then there would be heaps of cars for the calaisturbo display. I'd be keen anyway - just gotta get time off work

last time i was in canberra at summernats time i stayed at the ridges, was pretty good staying there as u get views of the main roundabout, side streets towards the grounds of summernats and a hell of a lot of racing/burnouts round the hotels, and a fair amount of cops. while i was there someone set fire to a tree out the front so was pretty fun

well, i have mates/family in canberra so im right :P :P camping is always an option if you dont mind not sleeping... at all...... for motels etc BOOK EARLY!

I was over for no.5 and no.7 1989 and 1991 if I remember. Your right about not sleeping when you camp on site.........some guys just cruised all night in the grounds..........was good though, never saw any VLT's back then, the closest thing was that Black Walky with the stroker (Antony Fabris?) anyway Great event and wouldnt mind going back one day

You can count in two calais turbos from sydney (yellow OMY-30L) and blue (JET88C) I am pretty new to this site, and it would good to get a whole stack of vl's on display together at the nats, specially in the show n shine. Just watch out for cops on the way there! If any of you read about a yellow VL calais in Street Commodores and Street Machine being defected and towed back to Sydney at the Goulburn (Marulan) RTA station, that is mine - I have learned from experience and am leaving syd 5am in the morning on friday this time - not 10am.

good to hear, make sure you guys (OMY30L and JET88C) make it to our next sydney cruise... fortunatly (or maybe unfortunatly)i live in goulburn, which is on the canberra side of marulan.. and regarding the bloke with the yellow VL, pity he didnt look on the notice board in 2 of the car shops in town, i had an ad there saying i was wrecking my VL and selling parts... HSVSUX, why not come over for summernats 16?? cars arent allowed to drive after a certain time now i think..

I would like to go over, but will have to be the next one (17). I'm sure its changed a lot over the years, last time I was there the 4 cylinder cars that were cruising around got heaps of abuse and there was a bit of fighting and agro around, other than that its a really good event. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

by the looks of things i am entering my car, i will be down there for the sat and sun. vx ss silver, sl 5 spd (proven 350rwhp@16psi). let me know what happens with the display. i cant wait to be doing laps at the nats. keep in touch.

well, by the looks of things i wont have a VL Turbo by the nats.. if all goes well, i will have a cool looking VS Ute, hopefully with a blower.

haha, me either....... its not much to look at at the moment, but after a fair bit of money and hard work it might resemle something cool.... thats if the LS1 bug doesnt bite........

Well peoples i'm trying to organise to go the the Summernats , so far there's 10 of us (me and two mates are towing our cars up there) and a few other boys are thinking about it . We want to leave late on the 1st/2003 (from Melb) or even early on the 2nd . Any one that wants to hook up with us let me know . I rang the Summernats office yesterday and the latest to enter your car is on the 13th of december so there's not much time , my forms should be coming on monday ....

Yeah I'm thinking of heading up... Is there any security parking there? Don't want my baby stolen... 8O
