Has anyone here made a custom boot themselves?
My boot is ****ing terrible, its black, greasy and there was a fire in there once 8O
I have a huge rectangle box containing 2 12"subs and I want to put down some mdf around it and carpet/paint it so it looks ok and doesnt slide around breaking ****.
Any info appreciated.

Yup - sure have. Basically the more effort you put in the better it looks. Mine too forever, but I'm very happy with the end results (http//www.geocities.com/carlyp_17 go to Pics of my Calais etc)
Do sketches of what you want - then take measurements and see what you can achieve. Figure out where you want everything mounted and go from there. Basically I used Kwik Grip, carpet, jigsaw, MDF, silicone, perspex, sewing thread and a few screws. Have a look at other peoples boots and see what you would and wouldn't like to do (without copying though - lol) )
You could also try going to www.caraudioaustralia.com.au I went to a meet on friday night and saw some sick setups, they have a pic section in their forums, go check that out for some ideas
Thanks Guys, I'll give it a go this weekend, post some pics to see how shocking it looks.
Girl Torque that looks sweet

Yeah i was thinking about doing sumthing with my boot...
Putting 2x12 in seperated boxes and having a false for say a body of smaller then averge size.. ( say the size of broomy ) btw it doesn't have to be comfortable

Does anyone have any specs for the VL boot? I measure it up last night but it's gay and changes sizes as I do it, or so
Carly, how'd you measure yours up?

Yeah it's not easy - I had help from my other half too as I don't have the 'logic' of making a lot of that stuff - but once I started it was cool.
If you have sub boxes- make them first. Then figure out what you want with your floor and spare tyre. You can then measure from there and make things too big and keep trimming it down till it fits - coz too small = waste of mdf. Basically because of the layout of the boot, you can't make one pice for the entire floor - so measure in parts and fit in parts. Cardboard is good for templates and helping you to figure out how to do things etc )
