Was just wondering can you put a turbo that has come of a diesel truck onto a car, I have been told they have different seals but if you get them changed you can. I have a truck turbo at home and it is the same spec's as a Y2k turbonetics turbo but it has a internal wastegate, it looks ****en mad and if I can I want to put it on a VL just for looks Can you put it on?

Thats what T04's were designed for.........generally on a petrol engine the lag will suck ass. Just for looks, WTF? why dont you get the car running 600HP just for wanks. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

..if its just for looks: 1) take a pic of the turbo 2) take a pic of your engine bay 3) photoshop the turbs into your engine bay and save yourself the trouble :!: ...but seriously I dont know what if anything needs changing to fit a truck turbo to a car, but if you find out let us know. What truck did it come off? Where did you get its specs from? Got any pics you can post? Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

I can put it on for **** all dollars, have a friend who can make manifolds for nothing, I didn't say I was going to run it down the strip or anything As for you HSVSUX I know that's what t4 were made for but like you would know being a sheep and all coming from NZ I don't like to follow everyone and just thought it would be different even if it was just for show seems like as waste having it sitting around.

I dont see why a truck turbo cant be bolted onto a car. I am not sure about manifolds and that. But a truck turbo would spool up quicker because it has to deleiver heaps of torque to pull the load. Have you ever heard a truck's turbo spool? It's almost instant. But with trucks being such a low reving machine, i dont think it'd be a great idea putting it into a car, traction would be impossible. But as for putting it on the car for show, i dont really see the point, but what ever tickles your taste. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

i work in the mining industry. some of the turbos on the engines we use are up to about 700mm in diametre. These are fitted to engines between 30 - 75 litre capacity that redline at 1900rpm so i guess they spool up quick but as good as one would look sitting in the ol calais engine bay, there is no way a vl would even spin one of these The turbo off a vl would fit inside the intake snout of some of theese. as to your question i dont see any reason a diesel truck couldn't be used but i know that theese turbo's would be no food for VL's Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

with al;l the money people spend on developing nissan turbo engines, if that was gunna work and provide some benefit I'm sure someone would have done it already

My Turbo exhaust housing is off a truck, The reason trucks spool up quick is diesels generate a lot of exhaust volume and are generally quite big engines with high compression. My turbo has quite bad lag. I have got no-one to follow over here as far as VL Turbos go. Thanks for the sheep line, well though out, I like your style............
