Gents, Can some-one put down a step by step procedure on how to correctly take out the front headlights so as to put new ones in. I'll be taking out both the indicator lens and driving light lens. And also a quick step by step with the rear tail lights. Cheers, joel. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

easiest way with the tail lights is just pull all the globes out of the back of em and unbolt all the bolts that hold them in along the back. take them out as one piece with the centre piece then you can easy separate them. headlights i dunno never done them.

Hey man.. this is a pretty easy procedure hey.. u cant really *** anything up, even if u try. OK.. this is all from what i can remember from doin it before, so yeah. for the front headlights, there are 2 screws on top that hold them in and one on the inside front of each light.. the indicator pieces will come out attached to the headlight.. they are fixed to the headlight piece by sliding into some plastic on the headlight. u need to open the bonnet to get to the screws on top of the headlights, the one on front is near the grill I THINK. before removing the lights, make sure u undo all the electrical connectors. for the rear headlights they are held in by a few screws.. which u undo from inside the boot area. I think there are about 4 per light. once u undo all the screws pull the indicator end out first and then slide the light out (ie if u are takin out the right hand side light, pull the indicator part out first and slide the whole light right as u pull it out, cause part of the light goes behind the centre piece which u can leave in place) goodluck champ.

have any of you guys ever fiddled with putting stronger globes in the vls. My lights are ****house. The high beam isnt even as good as the head lights on my vt. ive got those fancy arctic blue globes in the vl, but i think it made it worse and i couldnt be fudged changing back. Great $60 spending there!

I think it all comes down to reflector quality, get some new reflectors and they should be fine, I have some 90/100W "white" bulbs in my car with newish reflectors and they are as brighter than most cars I hop into.

I went the whole hog and put 100/140 watt *******s in mine. Upgraded the relay so they wouldn't burn the bloody wiring out of the fusebox, which is really a common sight in VL's. I went to the auto elec to make sure I got the right stuff, cost stuff all, and you get awesome headlights. Also new reflectors help. But I didn't go that far, mine were ok, I found that when I took the galss off the headlights and cleaned the reflective surface they looked brand new. cheerz morepsi
