quite simply, my horn doesnt work, if you press it it sounds like something is trying to engage under the bonnet, but no noise, any suggestions?

Hey man, if i were you, i'd try checking all the cabling to the actual horn unit itself... could just be some water has gotten in or its just stopped. Shouldn't be too pricey to replace from the wreckers either. Or ya could get a 300watt Air Horn... Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

The noise you can hear is probably the relay clicking. Check that the wire to the horn is o.k. and you may just have to replace the horn itself. No more than about $10 i'd say

I had the same problem with my horn, so i went into autobarn to buy one and the girlfriend pulled me out kicking and screaming "I will not be seen in the car with you playing one of those stupid musical horns" oh well - was worth a try - any horn off a vc - vl should work - 5 - 10 bucks at the wreckers. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Hey bielecki, had the same problem with my VL. The problem was a dodgy connection to the horn itself, it got old and simply fell off. I tried soldering it back on, but to no avail... so I stretched the budget ($30 ) and bought twin air horns... piece of piss to wire up to the stock relay, just made a couple of mounting brackets.. now it's all sweet! Loud as too Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Suggest you don't go the musical air horns. They are illegal in NSW and probably everywhere else. Check that the wire is connected to the actual horn, otherwise just buy a s/hand horn off a C'dore and fit it in 5 minutes for $10 or less. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

yeah man u'll be right.. just check the wiring to the actual horn itself.. also u could go to the wreckers and just pick up a horn for about 10 buks.. probably take 5 minutes to install. but yeah, make sure u check the wiring to the horn about 5 times.. u might miss something the first, second, third and fourth times. like i said.. if it still wont work.. just go down the wreckers ey.. they got heaps a horns down there... if u want u can go upper class and purchase one off a mercedes.. hahhhahhahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa ! Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

The relay is clicking. The relay won't click if the fuse is out because it is creating an open circuit. Did the horn suddenly die or fade out slowly? The first thing I'd check is that ya connection at the horn to see if it is dirty or fallen off. Clean it anyhow. If it is more than that, try another horn. GOOD LUCK 8)

try using a test light to see if the horn is getting power to it if there is power replace the horn if it doesnt then start with power to the fuse and so on ive seen plenty of people go in to deep to soon start with the basics first its alot easier boostedcal if anyone has there horn in there hand itd have to be you!!!!!
