I assume that you already know how to remove the original locks? When installing the solex locks into al vl you need to use the plastic sleeve with the 4 ridges which comes with them. You then need to use a stanley knife to trim the ridges on the sides of the sleeve to fit the notches in the door. Once you have done this you need to remove the top ridge all together and the outside of the sleeve so you are left with just the 2 side ridges and the bottom one. When you have done all this slide the lock into it and it should fit snugly in the door. The links which are required for the back of the lock is the ones with the straight edge at one end. Hope this makes some sort of sense. 8)
i did it like 6 mths ago, but ive already forgot. Although after days of stuffin about i rang solex themselves and ended up sliding them straight in. No grinding or taking bits off required, just study how the locks work and it becomes quite basic. If you grind bits off them, they dont catch the notches which defeats the point of a lock!!!! With the boot one, mine wouldnt fit if i used the black ring, so put it in without, looks better anyway!
I got all mine to work perfectly but the drivers side wont deadlock. I f*#ked around with this lock for about 5 hours one night and still couldn't work it properly. Anyone else have this problem?
I couldn't get mine to deadlock either. I can only turn the key a little way so the central locking locks and have to turn it back again to get the key out. Also I dont think that you can use the boot one on a calais because of the black plastic strip along the boot.

Gee those solex locks sound good!!! NOT
Most people can't get them in or to work properly, they often don't come with instructions and someone else suggests araldite to 'install' them.
What a recommendation...
