Anyone used or know of anyone using Haltech E6K ECU on their VLT? Any issues, problems, happy with it?

VL MUZZA, Paul who's cream VL is this week's feature car, Well his brother can't remember his name but he runs a Haltech on his Purple VL with the FR 18 Simmons wheels, probably seen the photo's of it at this years "Easternat's". He ran the Haltech with a N/A RB30 and Hi-Flow TO3-4, bigger fuel pump and injectors big cooler and Tri-matic auto, and the N/A RB30 was a high km job too with the usual sludge build up in the engine. With this combo it certainly did move and the owner claimed of a possible 10 second pass at the drags but in the end I think he blew the N/A engine but he did'nt care as he has a full house motor in the build so he will get there in the end. So yes I believe the Haltech deserves a bit of attention as it does work well and is a cheaper alternative to your Autronic's and Motec's. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

The haltech is cheaper as a base unit but once you start buying the 2/3 bar map sensor the autronic works out cheaper. Email me for prices if you are serious Chris Quote: Originally Posted by Red RB30 Jet VL MUZZA, So yes I believe the Haltech deserves a bit of attention as it does work well and is a cheaper alternative to your Autronic's and Motec's. Haltec E6K plus the 3 bar map sensor plus the air temp sensor plus the coolant sensor plus the TP sensor still work out less than an Autronic. I would recommend Romanos to anyone and I have been to quite a few in my time. You just have to see what sits in their workshop every day. Everything from Porsches to Ferraris to WRX's etc.... Cost a bit, but you get what you pay for!

..VL Calais, I though just the ECU was around that price - I would be interested in finding out if the MAP sensor is the only other thing that is required for the RB30? I already have a pretty good quote to have the Haltech tuned (Hitman has plenty of RB30 maps for the Haltech). If I can install it myself. It looks like it could work out under $2200 all up, brand new & tuned! Will the Haltech or the Autronic run off the ford XF TPS? Chris, thanks for the Autronic info. They are pretty similar in price when you work it all out, if what VL Calais has posted is correct then the Haltech will work out slightly cheaper than the Autronic not taking into consideration the initial tune. This is the Autronic system using the Bosch ignition module(cheapest option) and without the Autotune option. OVL087 - yeah RRP for Haltech would be handy if you could post them and any info you have? So far I see it like this - the Haltech appears to do eveything I need, will run my engine well, so I cant see a reason why I would pay any more for another product. If the Autronic was cheaper than the Haltech then I would buy it, but I dont have any reason to spend any more than the Haltech E6K unit at the moment. I'm sure the Autronic is probably a better unit but for my application the extra money isnt worth it? Unless someone can convince me otherwise? Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

OK, Story goes..... I had my E6K Haltech installed by a certain mob. Installation was great as far as neatness and workmanship goes. Their tuning was a little left to be desired. Being un happy with that, dropped past Romano's and got them to plug in and tell me what they think. They found the programming had more holes than Swiss cheese! So I left the car with them for about 3 day's (to get cold starts etc...) and it come out the best it ever had been! They really know what they are on about! If you ring Haltech, they have a very high opinion of them as well. So many years of experience in the one workshop.

Sorry mate this one slipped by me. Yes the xf tps will be ok, A straight smc ecu is $1690 retail. That is no autotune. Bosch module is the cheapest option, in fact i used to buy them 2nd hand of wreckers for $5.I cant verify that price cause someone stole my laptop with haltech price list in bag but sounds about right. Bear in mind i am talking straight retail here not a sweet deal. Let me know. I fyou are in a car club i can do better.
