hey in first gear i can only get to about 60km/h before it starts to shake the gear stick around, thus i have to change it into second. Is this the usual for a n/a vl 5 speed? Also is the supra 5speed any better or worse or anyother good gear box out there?? Just out of curiosity what can i do to make the gearbox/stick not shake so much on launch..... luke

The TURBO supra gearbox is supposively one of the strongest ones available ... but is it viable to do a supra conversion which may well cost at least half the value of a N/A VLT?. ... depends if your gunna do it yourself I suppose. If your looking for a more beefed up gearbox for your N/A, why not just find a decent MX7.

..I doubt the gear stick shaking around has anything to do with your gearbox strength. Sounds more like a badly balanced engine or flywheel/clutch. Either that or your drive shaft or something. Gearboxes dont usually generate shakes by themselves. Supra gearbox would be a waste of money for an n/a. You'd be better off fitting an MX7 turbo gearbox - will work out at a similar price with less mucking around. But even at that its not required for an n/a. Why do you want to do more than 60kmh in first?!

60 in first? man you must have total disrespect for your car that would be pulling over 6 grand yeah? I usually only take mine out to 50 or so in first, any quicker and the car isn't accellerating as hard. my auto could easily pull 80 in first tho Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

hmmmmm check * drive shaft for damaged or unbalanced joints * Gearbox Mounts.... could indicate signs of wear and eratic behavior does it happen at any other time, in any other gear/speed?
