Just wondering what would be better to get, a hiflo t3/t4 hybrid or a hiflo t04? To recon and hiflo the t3 with t4 compressor will cost around 1500, how much will getting a t04 and hifloing it cost?

Hey guys, do you think that a high flow t03 will be able to clock high 11's? if it is mated with the usual mods, intercooler, 3inch, filter, adjustable boost, tricked tranny, lsd and microtech ems?

Of course a decent TO3 Hi-Flow can get you into the 11's, ATS even got the Bluey cop car into the 10's with a bit of time and research and it only used a TO3, Also 1 of the feature cars on this site with the plates JET-WPN used a TO3 got into the 11's so there you go. For the street a Hi-Flow TO3 is the best option. For the dragstrip the TO4 with an External Wastegate. Generally when opting for a TO4 a External Wastegate is required and hence more dollars for the wastegate and modification to your exhaust or exhaust manifold to fit it. Another note External Wastegates on a VL are declared illegal so be prepared to cop defect notices and fines from the EPA if caught running on the streets. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

I think that wastegates are LEGAL, only if it is piped back into the exhaust, before the cat. ie: not dumping out into the atmosphere, like a bov. A BOV is legal, only if its a plumbback type after the AFM, due to EPA regulations.
