You know what i have been thinking lately - we are all here for the same cause right? and we are all extremely passionate on our vls / other turbo vehicles well everyone here knows someone who can do this and that cheaper for you etc etc - why dont we all get together and create some sort of memberships, have bbq's and stuff at jells park and have big meets / socials together here in melb - and other states of course. - just a thought- what you all think? sounds like a good idea man, nothing better than meeting people with the same interest and making new friends. We all can offer something to someone and would be good for every1!!hope this is taken a step further

Hey there.. great idea man.. I am all for the idea of maybe asking a few businesses if they are willing to give discounts for business obtained by word of mouth over this forum.. I know of a few people who lately have asked me where they should get things done.. such as turbo checked out.. and suspension fitted. In both cases I recommended business other people off here use and are happy with. Businesses are only goin to benefit if everyone on here recommends them to their mates etc.. and why not offer somethin like.. "if we were recommended to u by someone off calaisturbo.. we'll give u a 10% discount" or somethin similar. could reap benifits for both the company and the members of the site But about the meets idea, don't we all meet up and cruise and stuff together anyway ?

Some Random thoughts yes there will be offical 'www.calaisturbo.com' memberships in the future. yes we will also have website sponsorship in the future. who will have to pay for it. I said it in another post before, I am not willing to let other companies make money off my hard work. Simple. I could let every workshop, retailer, panel beater and anything else I could think of advertise on my site for free, but I won't let that happen. I am _very_ reluctant to try and promote any sort of cruise or meet through this website in Melbourne. I have spoken to various people regarded in high nature with this site who simply won't come to any event promoted through the site where there is a chance police forces will spoil the event. For many , attending the last cruise cost a LOT of money. Some people were lucky and got a $20 parking fine, some other had to have their cars towed home with 3 fines, exterior canarys and 4 points missing from their licence. And I can agree with them. Why the **** should you lose 1/3 of your licence for the next 3 years because you want to see a few other VLs in a carpark and go for a drive with them. Not to mention close +-$400 in fines and having to get a canary off your car. Any other thoughts, ideas, and death threats for me? :)

nothin is free these days , im with sin , if companies want to get business from us thats fine , but if they want to use ct to promote there business for free , thats wrong. im sure if they were to offer some sort of donation/sponsorship in return , then it would be acceptable. as for cruises etc . we make our own ways of organising them from state to state. and lastly , the cops down south are real *******s. sorry u fellas have to put up with em.

No company should get free advertisment, they don't put in the hard yards, and national advertisment for free is crazy, especially considering the growing popularity of the site. A membership would be good, and advertising would be good too, if the companies paid, which would mean hosting costs could be down, more money to do things with *cough* clothes *cough* :P it could be good, but like anything it takes planning, and i say we have membership cards :P if this idea did go ahead u could use the card at participating companies offering discounts and such, but a calaisturbo.com card would just be mad anyway Thats my thoughts on the topic anyway
