Ill offer you some advice, dont go into a shop and ask for a "Platum Chamber" or they will laugh at you. What you want is called a Plenum Chamber. Secondly tell people you have advanced timing, but not an advanced AFM, as they will also laugh... Cheers Mick

the xf throttle body isnt going to do much on an NA cause i cant see the stock throttle body being much of a hinderance to the flow of air. the amount of air entering the engine in an atmo vl would never exceed the flow limit of the stock throttle body. an xf throttle body would be a benefit to a turbo application once the boost has been increased to a fairly higher level over stock to accommodate a truck load of air. the plenums for sale in the 'for sale section' are for turbo vls....and without a cooler (obviously also an NA) youre going to have to get pipe made up just to connect to the throttle body cause the body on the jdcuston plenums sits facing the battery...its just not worth it

I don't think VL Ben has much of an idea at all. He's gone off on a weird tangent buying a VLT crossover pipe etc for his N/A!! Too much time and money on his hands!!

Answers to these questions would be great, thanx A good port job might cost about $400, depends who you see. don't worry about the polish. A standard head will flow about 260hp i've seen a flow bench results get 314hp with the porting, but thats not to say that you will get that much power. Cold air intake requires getting a hole saw, drilling a 90mm hole through the bottom of your air filter box, through the guard. Then running plumbing pipe from the front of the car up to the air filter. Its simple and cheap, especially for a VL commodore. Its a bit more detailed than that, but thats basically it.

what sourt of power increase will be achieved with cold air intake

cold air intake = 500hp! must have large Greddy sticker though I don't think anyone really knows, it is worth doing though. Basically colder air holds more oxygen, which inturn helps the burning process in the combustion chamber. Sorta same principle as using nitrous. Ever noticed on a hot day your car feels sluggish? The intake helps that. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
