I'm soon to add a 2nd tranny cooler.... and was wondering can you mount the 2nd one behind the first? like the radiator is behind the cooler? or do they both have to be getting fresh air...?? I don't really have much room in there anymore :? In theory it should be fine to do.. just making sure Thanx

You could mount it behind the 1st one if you wanted to... having it next to the 1st one would cool the transmission fluid a *bit* better, but having it behind wont make 2 ****s worth of difference... stock, there is in order from the front - tranny cooler - air con condenser - radiator...

Both stacked together is fine. One of the best mods I made was adding a Trans temp gauge so you can see whats going on. My trans runs at a max temp of 240 deg F (thats over 8 hard laps of circuit racing) I also run fully synthetic trans fluid (red line) so should be able to handle 280 - 300 deg F without too mant probs.

i fitted factory towing kits that mounted to the bar reo on the side below the h/lights.i think this was to make them cheeper as the fan had to be spaced forward on the turbo vl coolers. the oil cooler needs an air gap from a heat source.ie condencor. the oil needs to be heated before returning to the box so dont go over board.50-80 cel min.you wont get od till 50 cel.

I had mine tranny coolers mounted like that, one infront of the other, they had pole position for cooling right behing my group A grille thing. Never had a drama with my tranny - EVER, had a 3500 stall also Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
