Are there any companies that still make HDT MOMO Stars? Or am I just pushing my luck to get a set at all? I'm yet to ring HDT for this. Has anyone got a set that they would like to sell? If so please check out the wanted section on this forum. Also what cars had these wheels besides VL SS Group As??

I have a set of 5x 16x7" Momo stars on my LE. cant buy them anymore there were two types, the 16x7 and the 16x8. the 16x8s are very rare and there aren't many sets around. prices vary from about $1500 to $3000+ for a set of 5 in mint condition in 16x8 make sure you get the HDT/Momo hand tool that goes with them and theres 2 stickers on each wheel, a HDT and a Momo sticker opposite eachother. These stickers are VERY Expensive if you need to get more. They were available on the following cars; VK Group A (optional) VK Group 3 (optional) VK Calais Director (optional) VL Group A VL Calais LE (optional) VL Director Hope that helps. They are one of the all time classic wheel designs.

There are many copies of these wheels available that look good when polished at least 1/4 of that price. It all comes down to if you want geniune ones or not

true. but you can always tell non genuine ones. it's the same with a lot of things I guess tho isn't it... I'd rather pay extra for something thats genuine and the real McCoy, but that's just me

there the same style rims they use on the V8Supercars nowdays, and you can buy replicas, that look exactly the same. Whats the difference you ask, you dont get the momo or HDT sticker, but sin said you can buy them, they also have the same looking cap on them, find the sticker for that, and you'd be arsed if you can tell the difference. Only way to tell difference now days is by the sticker on em. ie ford 16x7 EL XR have a replica by ANZ, look identical with ford cap on them. but horses for courses, depends on how fussy you really are. Mind you for 3,000 i know what i'd be getting, FR17s on a VL

Well I'm pretty fussy too. I would really like genuines, but that depends on cost and how close of a copy they are in the first place. Has any got copies and has anyone ever compared copies to genuine side by side?

Genuine ones have 'HDT' casted into the rear of them as Brock had them specially made for his cars. Momo did also sell those same rims for other cars as well. Have seen them on a few Jags. Not all rims had the stickers on them either, depended on the model and colour of rims etc. Rims were also available on the Bathurst Aero and Corsa models. They would have to be one of the most well known rims and there have been lots of copies made. I have a set of 17*7.5" Momo Stars for my car. These are probably rarer than the 16*8" HDT rims.
