I know that lots of people use silicon to join the pipes to the intercooler and so on, but is there some cheaper way ie like rubber. If people have used any cheaper option can they please tell me the name and where they got it from. Thanks

i think ur best option is not rubber or silicone, but pluracil, u can get it from specialized hose places, but it aint cheap thats the thing, prolly cost u about 110-130 to do all pipes, but worth it Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

U can use rubber piping it just wont last a particalarly long time, the more times it gets hot the quicker it will die, the othewr thing I have read is that rubber actually makes the boost disapear (sort of) cause the rubber expands your intake piping becomes bigger when under high boost, that isn't good. I dont imagine it would have that much impact, it probly only applies when your trying to get evry last .25hp out of your car. When I got my car, there was a bit of rubbber hose from the turbo onto the crossover pipe (no cooler at that stage), I was having a funny prob with the boost pulsing up and down, when I pulled the rubber pipe off it fell apart in my hands. If you can afford it gettrhe proper hose, it cost me bout $80 for almost 1metrefrom "purple pig" in bayswater. Good Luck

I have got a mate who is currently trying to find a place that actually sells silicon hose or what JETWPN said he has tried just about every place in Melbourne but no one seems to be able to point him in the right direction and all he is after is one elbow bend. And "Purple Pig" in Bayswater did'nt have it. Does anybody know where or who in Melbourne sells Samco blue silicon hose in about a 2 to 2.5 inch diameter? Any directions would be much appreciated.

I know AVO sells SAMCO silicon hose in 45, 90, 135 degree bends and straight lenghts as well, I'm also hooking up a cooler and looking for a cheaper alternative, my mate who is a radiator repairer said to use truck radiator hose which you can buy from Motogear as it is my heavy duty and alot cheaper comes in all sizes. The elbow's etc from AVO are fairly expensive but they do look mad it's about $74 for a 90 degree bend but I can get trade price which is about $60 Purple pig would be the cheapest around for silicon hose but they only sell straight lengths.
