Hey Peoples! I rang Shannons today to ask about insuring my car, i got a quote ages ago, never got around to it, and they no longer insure modified cars! They say they have changed their policies and that they only want to insure vintage cars! So where to now? Just Cars has huge.... Unique cars (03) 98989400 Was pretty good, not as good as Shannons, but still ok, they do modified cars, they said no worries to cooler, as long as in engine bay, aftermarket computer, bigger turbo etc etc

Try Vigil insurance (cant remember the number) - i rang them to get a stock VLT berlina insured and they told me to come back when it had a cooler n stuff ! - you dont hear that often from an insurance company. another good one is suncorp-metway. they were both good with mods Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

also try RACV, sounds silly, but they were 2x cheaper for me than shannons and $150 less than just cars

unique cars allows unlimited mods, as long as they are roadworthy!.. RACV wont insure me becuase im still a P plater... they basically just said no. no phony excuses or nothing. just a straight no.

I was lucky I got insurance with shannons b4 they changed thier policy on modified cars, they still insure modified cars if your an existing customer , Did you get a cover note when u got the quote turbo-chick cause they might give it to you if you did........ They are expensive though for my VL turbo (with a bit of everything done to it) its costing me $1550 per year but I do get a free windcreen. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
