whats the best way to mount 8" neons under front seats? like where should i run the wires to stop them from getting stucks in the seat runners and getting severed?? any suggestions would be good. thanx.
 well after installing a few in my friends car.. we placed 5 neons in the interior (mind you not the absoluete bright ones) of the datto 180b.
We put the under seat neons just onto the bottom of the seat using cheap little clamps (under the seats in the datto is just the springs which u could use to hold your neons, only if your seats are applicable) and we ran the wires under neath the plastic door seals that run along side the interior up into the dash, wich keeps it well hidden and not in the way of feet.
hope this helped
hey guys im just wondering in qld is it illegal to have neon in the interior of your car or is it only certain colours or is it a myth all together. because im already in a enough of the police officers goodbooks and i dont need any more trouble and get to know them all by name.

i have been warned manay times for a blue neon in my car so i turned it odd and insalled a yellow and still coped flack for it so id say prolly no but the cops seam to be able to book what they want when its a commo
******if its fun it aint legal*****
I used to have 2 blue neons in the back parcel shelf, due to go back into the VS this weekend....
But what i was told is, if they're on a full time power source, then they're illegal, but if you have them switchable, then its legal.
I don't know how much truth is in it, but thats just what i'd heard.
I never got pulled over specifically for the neons... it was always for the stereo being loud near houses, or other stupid crap.
Most of the neons that are made for 'in car purposes' shouldn't be left on for more than 30 minutes at a time anyway.
(Reading the instructions will tell you this! )
Personally I think that they ARE a distraction, and should be wired to a switch so that you can put them on when you're stopped.
At least if they are on a switch you can turn them off when you are approaching a booze bus or similar, and theres no point in having them on all the time, because you cant see them in the day.

Although that says other lights can be fitted provided the above conditions are met the Vic Roads Technical Guide for Vehicles states;
Vehicle Standards Information 10: Installation of lights on Road Vehicles
Motor vehicles and trailers intended for use on the road must be fitted with lamps that comply with the Standards for Registration which for vehicles built on or after 1 October 1991 are the ADRs. The standards also prohibit a vehicle from being fitted with a lamp or reflector that is not required or permitted by the standards.
Road Rules - Victoria state
Rule 219
A driver must not use, or allow to be used, any light fitted to or in the driver's vehicle to dazzle, or in in a way that is likely to dazzle, another road user.
Definition of dazzle
1.v.t. confuse sight by excess of sight , intricate motion, etc, confound or surprise by brilliant display or prospect.
2.n. bright confusing light
I will let you draw your own conclusions from all of that. Hopefully they will clarify it soon so there will be no confusion with you being told different things out on the road. My own opinion is no they are not allowed. As far as I know there is no court ruling on it yet.
