Friends VL has got factory P/S. Works great, plenty of oil, belts tight and no leaks. However on full lock either side it makes some friggin bad sounds. Whats the cause?

My VL does this noise too.. I've been lead to believe it does this because its under full pressure/load and the fluid is trying to force its way through a tiny opening somewhere.. I'm not overly sure of the exact details but yeah, its a common problem and nothing to be worried about.

Well, I just got a nice new belt, got the rubber boot's replaced and had the fluid hose replaced and the noises all stopped Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

its because of the high pressure hose, on full lock its basically forcing the fluid through, sometimes, when you hear that noise its pushing too hard. thats what can create a power steering leak.
