friday night me and my g/f were driving into town when i saw this motorbike behind me at the lights. the light turns green and i drive off slowly and on come the party lights so i pull over and over comes officer hero. he says can u blow into this and can i see your licence. after this he goes we're gonna do a vehicle inspection now so follow me to this testing place back out of town. so im following him along and we turn into the street and theres this old bomb doing this big burnout so he gets booked and has to go and be inspected too. we get there and there and im surrounded by ****boxes full of dents and with different coloured panels and half an exhaust. i ask the cop why he even pulled me over and he says u were the first car i came across and i think to myself bull**** cos there was traffic everywhere and i wasnt even doing anyything wrong. the little transport dude there says will be nothing wrong with the calais, they put my car over the pits and all they can find is my windows are too dark. he has a bit of a look and goes to me you've got a few mods under the bonnet and i say yeah. he says some of them are i bit iffy andd i say such as, he says well you must be running higher fuel pressure beacuse your boost is wound up and i say no but he knows everything and says it has to be so i leave it at that. i was running stock boost because i have a electronic boost controller. anyway i get a minor defect notice which is self clearing. the thing that pisses me off is why cops see us car enthusiasts as easy revenue but they should be doing there job out there catching the real criminals. sorry about the long post but i had to get it off my chest :x

welcome to the club mate, be there done that many of a time :x thing is i hate they won't sesertate (spelling) pulling over a nice car but when is comes to a real crime they take there time. e.g. i waz asulted at a set of traffic lights when i waz punched while still in my car from a truck driving, now this happen in jan this year and they still haven't found out who it waz or interviewed anyone when i had a witness and rego plates of the truck. that's why i don't think highly of the boys in blue

Think it's been said time and time again that there are different departments of the police force, so it is pointless to say they shouldnt be pulling 'us' up coz they should be doing their job and catching crooks. There are dept.'s such as CIB that do that sort of stuff and on the other end of the spectrum there are hi-way patrols, yes pulling folk up that havent really done anything wrong, they do this because thats their job, so to speak.. I totally agree its ****ing wrong, the power trip some cops get is unbelievable, eg Hi-Flow Cruise #3 but it's not going to change however much we bitch about them... We all know most of them are ****s and feel they have nothing better to do than to pick on us, even though mostly everyone here as a "top condition" car.. You've gotta remember that cops are being told to do this sort of ****, they have to pull up so many vehicles every shift, not to raise revenue but to show back to the governement that they are doing their jobs, as they need to justify the money that is spent on them. (cars etc) "If an apples rotton, dont throw it away, look at the barrel and see why its making rotton apples"

I don't want to start on cops because it piss's me off every time I hear about them cause 99 % of cops are ****s and everyone knows what they are like and what we put up with but I think you were lucky to have gotten off with a minor defect. I know you probably don't agree with me but with mods done to your car it could have been a lot worse. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

My two best mates are Highway Cops and let me assure you that the work they do isn't easy. They have both been shot at , one in a pursuit with a shotgun and the other in a foot pursuit. The other thing is that by pulling people over and checking their details they have both caught many, many wanted criminals who would otherwise still be out there. Spot checks of vehicles is a strategy that gets results. I'm also aware of another cop who, on his own in a remote area, came across three people in a car that, unknown to him, had been involved in an armed robbery. While checking things out he had a gun put to his head and the trigger pulled but it misfired. The crim then raced back to his car and blew his brains out in front of his wife and child rather than go to jail. It kind of makes your complaints about being pulled over a little insignificant doesn't it?

being pulled over doesn't really bother me and i'm not saying that they shouldn't pull over people on random. what i'm saying and i think the rest of us would sgree is that once they pull us over and find out we have done nothing wrong then go onto doing us for everything they can. i know for me i don't care if i get pulled over for a normal check i just hate it when they then go on to get me for everything they can going through my car and 99% of the time trying to spin bull**** to defect my car.

every sunday in newy cops are pulling people over for apparent rbt but are instead pulling their car to bits and defecting them for ****.i.e no flkuid in washer bottle throught to the defectable oil leaks. And since the new laws have came into place that u can lose 2 points for a LOUD car they have no idea. no meters to measure volume etc. aA mate of mine was pulled over and given a defect stating his car was too loud but after going to an inspection station he was 5 decibels under the limit. Now this wouldnt usually worry me but when u can lose ur licence on someboies GUESS how loud ur car is well its bull****

Stop the ****ing sooking.. Yes some cars do have nothing wrong with them but alot do have **** ****ed up, we are a minority that get pulled up and alot of the time dont have anything wrong. But jesus crist, have alook around the site, there are folk bragging that their cars are too low, too loud etc... It is a minority on here that do brag but there are still folk that do break the laws, even if you dont agree with them. Everyone is sooking but how many of you do anything about it? How many have written to the Ombudsman's office!! (or even know what it is) if you think the force is so ****ed up why dont you join and make it a better place, or maybe join and see all the **** wits that they have to deal with everyday..

i waz going to send a letter in and ring, then i thought if i put a complaint in i'll have to have my name on it and i really don't want more attention then what i'm already doing. i've had mates complain before and they quickly turned into more of a target

Man u can't beat the cops.. well... not usually.. hehehehe :P sometimes u can but it takes a quick decision and a bit of effort, incorporating a bit of "EXCHASER SYTLE" If u wish to have a car that is illegally low, too loud, leaks oil, has illegal mods blah blah.. then u just have to pay out when u get a defect.. its the price u pay for having an illegal modification etc.. however, having said that.. it does suck a bit of **** that u get randomly pulled over and dragged to a checking station or what not to have ur car fully inspected by homos ! Instead of pulling over a car that looks perfectly tidy and probably hasn't got **** wrong with it and therefore no danger to society or the environment.. Why not target people who drive round in p.o.s bunkies. Or maybe start picking cars to be cheked from a list of drivers who regularly get tickets or somethin.. ? Police need to start rewarding the good and gettin tough with the ***nuckles.. Instead of pulling over the vl driver who is just cruising along in their fullsik lookin calais, why not pull over the ****head vl driver who pulled a phat skid at the lights and got fully sideways ? maybe there arent enough ****head vl drivers.. so they just target everyone. ?? I dunno... cops are there. always will be. u cant beat em so obide by them.. if u dont wanna get done.. dont do illegal **** with ur car.. if u insist on doin illegal things with ur car.. take it on the chest when u get a defect. SIMPLE AS THAT.. Bye Ollie !

yer man i hear ya ollie, but it does really suck when they think your the bad guy on da road. Hey like most of us are not ****s on the road, but it does really dig in when ya get treated like ****. Seriously it is time justice of the car culture become more fairer to whome those wish to obide by the rules. Im a leave with a quote ollie stated which is so true - Quote: Police need to start rewarding the good and gettin tough with the ***nuckles

You guys are all worried about your cars being stolen, right??? Well if the worst happened and it was then wouldn't you want the cops pulling over the thief to check on his bona fides???? and as a result you get your car back?? I've been pulled over once as a check to make sure that I hadn't stolen the car. the cop spotted the 'turbo' badge and decided to do a check. I was grateful. WRX's get pulled over all the time to check if the've just been stolen, we are all driving similar risk cars so live with it!!!

It's obvious that there are good and bad points as to why cops pull over people with "good" cars but there is no point getting on Calais Turbo and arguing as to what a cop can and can't do. As it was the copa didn't really have a reason to pull us over that night and as he said "you were the first car I seen" which was not true considering the street was packed at the time... Everyone has a different opinion and even so there is nothing you can do that will change the fact that some things they do suck and others are for perfectly good reasons... I personally believe that he shouldn't have pulled us over thinking that he could find things wrong but that's my opinion. Ryan came on here to just tell of what happened and say that it shouldn't have happened...which everyone pretty much says that considering they expect not to be picked on mb the cops for having a "good" car... I think people are allowed to come on the site and tell of their experiences...It's not "sooking" it's more or less giving advice of what the cops will and won't do to "modified" cars or "standard" cars. If you don't have something constructive to say towards a post what's the point of sooking about someone else "sooking"?

yeah it is fine coming on here to tell other folk about their own experiences but is it worth having the same thread over and over and over again... I know when we were on our own forum the topic of cops came up alot and the same stuff is being said on here as what has already been said.. I and im sure others were purely trying to put accross that no matter how much people talk and bitch about cops nothing is going to change....

If you want to have a modified car, spend the $250 or so and get an engineer's report. Nothing beats the look on a cops face when you jam that under their noses! Get every little modification signed off, and you'll be laughing. Seriously, cops have quotas(they deny it, but it's true) and they have to write X number of defects, X number of speeding tickets etc, to justify their existence, and therefore get more funding. You see, governments and police forces stopped working for the societies that elect and enpower them many years ago, and we have no one to blame but ourselves for letting it happen. Regards, Andrew.

What i don't get is why at summernats and other events the cops have their burnout cars who participate in the events and outside there defecting every modified which comes near the place. Explain that to me. Are the cops just having a bit of fun with our tax money?

Why do police pick on VL owners, well how many persons do you know, that have just got there license, and want a full sick car to do a skid in, whats in there budget, and rwd, **** me dead its a VL that they can buy. Police know that youngens want a VL, so when a cop sees a youngen, al la all you *******s on here, there going to pull you over and check your car out. They also pick on holdens 50 billion times more than ford. Ive been pulled over 3x, once i was being silly, 2nd time i was being a **** wit, and 3rd time i was just driving along burnout rd on thurs night, and cops were there, i BS saying i was going to mates, this is the shortcut, and i left. And i see Mrs JetCalais is now saying what i had been saying all that time ago, and she didnt agree, now she does, and exchaser has turned intelligent, **** whats this world come to, hahah anyhow, cop it on the cheek, its going to happen until you turn 30, and/or buy a reasonable car. otherwise it will happen your whole life, being the rev head you are South Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
