The gregories one seems to be ok for mechanical stuff... but is kinda empty when it comes to the body of the car.
I had to use trial and error to work out how to get the tail lights out.
I find the best workshop manual is actually this forum... all these guys seem to know how to do just about anything.
ive got two different Max Ellery manuals, these are definately the best Ive seen, I have an older one that has everything in it, especially regarding turbo and ECU operation (has factory workshop manual on cover), I dont know if you can still buy this one but the other max ellery one I have is quite good too
Genuine holden workshop manuals from pitstop.net
under 300 bucks delivered for 6 volumes. Gregories is next, and Max elleries is last.
i own all of the above, the gregories is good for quick reference, and the workshop manual are great for details. The max one is ok, but it contains some wrong information, such as howmany teeth on the timing chain, and bolt torque specs
this site is the way to go, butcan be a pain on waiting for replies, but if ya like me whos been here for a while after reading heaps of **** you take in a fair bit........still manuals are great!!! Mines from the library, and has been for 3yrs now =)
Where could i pick the GM manuals up ? Couldnt see them on pitstop.net, which is where darkstar suggested i could get them and I never get a chance to goto swap meets !! Any ideas ?
Umm - start going to swap meets? LOL! - Nahh.. there's the 'Motoring Bookshop' in Adelaide which stocks them every so often and Beven Young also in Adelaide - you may need to call places like that... and I guess use the forums and websites till then D
You following me Girl Torque :P
Yeah i might have to have a look around in a few book shops here in Sydney. May even get myself to a swap meet some time

Im sure one of the max ellery manuals I have is a copy of at least parts of the Factory workshop manual. It is very old now, has gone yellow, and I have never seen this one for sale, you may be able to order this from somewhere though, just a thought
I think I have that one too - is it a black manual with info on Walky's etc in it? I also have 2 of the blue workshop manuals and I have seen the parts catalogues for sale too. THe Black manual is a good overview of of all the blue volumes, but the blue ones are the most comprehensive and helpful I've found D
Would this be the one you guys are talking about, the photo is a bit dodgy so i cant tell what is on the front of it

This manual is extremely detailed focused on one model. We have covered the turbo option, engine management on all engine options plus a very detailed chapter on group A Commodores. Holden body with a Nissan engine, turned out to be a good match, turbo as an option plus V8. Still the European influence but a bigger looking body. (408 pages.)
Wow that was a good guess
Price $49.45AUS
Is it woth the buy ? I have the Gregory's one, would this be worth the buy on top of that ?
