Hi guys, I'm about to re-mount my rear speakers and i'm sick of the crappy parcel shelf in there. What i wanted to know was, how easy it it to make a new one, and what thickness timber do i need? Also, the one thats in there has the curved bit at the back, with the one i make, can it be flat? If anyone's done it, can ya let me know. Thanks

altho i've never done it, i'd imagine it to be piss easy, i've taken the shelf out, it just slides out once u move the seat, u could have it flat if u want and just use something like 6mm mdf or particle board

yepos it's a piece of cake mate. pull the old one out, easier if u pull the whole back seat out as well. put it over ur wood and strce it out. get the jigsaw out and do some cutting. see if it fits in, if it doesn't see where it hits and cut again. i'll take come pics of my shelf and see if i can get the pics on the net to show ya :P

Hey looks good Platinum.... I was thinking about something really custom like going nuts doing it... but then it doesn't seem much point for one 10" Pioneer.

my box no one is getting out in a hurry. it's screwed in through the metal shels on top and behind the rear seats. it also rubs on both strut towers and top metal shelf and takes 2 people to lift out of the boot. i got some pics of my set up now just no webspace Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

All I used was a bit of wood from mitre 10 (12mm i think) and made a side for it and the back board, screwed the carpet in place at the top, and shoved it under the rubber boot seals at the other end... had to cut a few odd angles and shapes, though, a) do I could get the spare tyre out and b) so I could still reach the globes for the tail lights the carpet is just some automotive stuff I payed about $20 bucks for it, and did it all in a day of work Only problem is the sub is sitting there free-air at the moment, so I have to build a weird shape box for it at some stage. I stuck a bit of thin 5mm stuff on the floor to make it flat as well Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
