just a little info about underbody neon light kits (UBNLK)
if you have one on your car then you might like to know that..
(1) they are not entirely illegal like some people (cops) say
(2) as far as i know they make 3 UBNLK's, (designed only for underbody) red, green and blue, (i've seen people with purple but was told they wern't proper kits)
(3) no matter what, Blue UBNLK's are illegal on the public roads when turned on (even when parked), there only allowed for show car and personal use on private property.
(4) Blue is illegal because; something to do with the colour of cop lights! it cant be argued!!
(5) why not red then?? well red tail lights are allowed...believe me there legal!
(6) red and green are legal!! cops cant do **** about it!! argue it, you'll win!!
(7) being caught with a blue UBNLK on, on your car on public roads will result in a ticket and fine....something to do with "distraction to other drivers" but no loss of points!!
i know the points wern't in perfect detail, but you'll get the gist of it, i'll update when i get the copy of the info source!!
the details where sourced from Main Roads by a local Limo driver who drives clients in a beautiful 64 Imparla, it has Neon Lights on it, some green and some blue, he got hasseled one night by cops when he had clients in the car, but the lights where off, the cops simply tryed it on him with "we know u have blue neons on this car" blah blah and tryed to plug him, he argued and got really mad, mainly cause he had clients at the time and was getting hasseled for neons that wern't even on! then he went to Main Roads and got all the details!!
This applys to Queensland, im not sure about other states!!
In NSW you can't have forward facing red or blue lights because emergency vehicles have them and it would cause confusion ( read wankers pretending to be police etc )
Same with those windscreen washer lights.
Some guys in Sydney, particularly at macca's, seem to use neons and washer lights as some sort of mating signal to girls. Most girls laugh at their efforts.
If you get caught with toooo many neons.... you have to serve 500 hrs working in RICE fields in ASIA!

OHH GOD NO. PLease for the sake of the Vl's please do not put neon lights on. They look so crap and guess what? There a asian riceburner accessory!!! HOw does that make u feel? U might think that the cops are wrong if they book u but guess what? U Can't do jack **** against them. IF they say those lights are illegal then they are illegal. i got neons, personal preference, it's like saying fords suck, vl's suck, blue cars suck, nissans suck, everyone has an opinion, why is it that other people are gay just cause they don't agree with your way of thinking?
i know people who think walkinshaw kits are gay, i know people who think vl's are gay, does this make me and everyone else on this forum who has or liked vl's automatically turn against them just to satisfy someones opinion?
quite frankly i like having neons, i know people who think they suck, and who think they're cool, it's about being an individual, do what satisfies you, not what satisfies everyone else
I have my neons connected to the door switch. They are located underneath the dash. So when u open the door, blue neons shine down onto the footwell. Thats as far as i would go with neons.

as for what I think of neons, well, I dont like em that much, but when used well, as in lighting a footwell when the door opens, I reckon thats clever.
The blue washer lights are bloody terrible though.

Well if you own a VL 6 guess what your motor is out of... hmmm think you guys should hvae more of an open mind for other cars instead of just knocking them. If it wasn't for the "rice eaters" your vl would have a crappy old carby buick V6 pos in it. Don't know the Rice burners.

..I dont mind neons when used correctly, in interior enclosures etc. but under the car.. :!: :?: I just think that scene on Fast and Furious where they are all heading to the factory at night in "formation" with their "under car neons" glowing... aahhhahahaha reminds me of a bunch little kids dressing up and pretending to be an "elite space task force" or something.

i dont mind neons at all, i rekon they look cool in the boot's of cars showing a custom set up, and dont mind them under the car as well, as long as its down tastefully
