hey guys i just brought my Vl last sunday and it came with a pretty reasonable start for a sterio in it the only problem being that when i turn the volume up the diplay on the head unit fades out to the bass parts of the song its only got a 4 x 45w pioneer head unit running 4 x 6inch(i think they are if i remember correctly) 2 way sony explod speakers max output of 140w but recomend output of 40w is this only because of the lack of power or from bad wiring?? soon i intend to put in a amp and at least one 12inch subbie any suggestions on what brand , size amp or anything thing at all would be greatly appreciated cheers Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Alpine or Kenwood Amp, and JBL speakers would be my choice. JBL = ownage.

try running a thicker wire to your deck.. all the lights etc in my car dim when there is big bass in my car, probably cos its drawing alot of power running two big amps

This happens to a lot of people... basically try what those guys said, and don't worry about it too much You can always try a bigger battery larger altenator and some fat capcitors if you get serious 8) Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

I'm not too sure what you can do about the face plate fading but as for recommendations for subs i would have to say look into the JL Audio subs. Have heard nothing but good things about them

It sounds like your h/u isn't getting enough power, one of my mates cars head lights, dash lights and h/u lights used to dim when the bass hit. Then there was my other mate with the barina that actually stalled going up a hill when the bass kicked in......

i got jbl 6.5" gto series splits in my vl, they sound awesome, kenwood 6x9's on the rear shelf for fill, i fade most of my sound into the front and i get no bass at all from the 6x9's and just let the jbl woofers go nuts,i'm happy with it for now, still waiting for the box to put my 2 subs in
