mikey get someone else to push down on the bonnet while you pull the ripcord , if not just try and pull harder. dont get any perverse thoughts regarding that last line. hehe

Can you reach the hood latch from the ground under the car? When I bought my VL, it had the cable broken so I would lie inder the car and reach up in front of the radiator and just lever it open with a finger, easy as. The only catch would be if you have a huge front mount you mightent be able to get your hand up there. The go on down to the local dealer and pick up a new cable for $25, from memory. Takes about 10minutes to fit. Easy as Pie.

after a while the latch thingy wears out and doesnt make proper contact with the striker on the bonnet if youve got small hands then u can get under there and adjust it until proper contact is made between the two. but in the meantime, just press down on the bonnet while another guy pulls the cord , like that other guy said Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
