My vote would have to go for the Calais Turbo and there are many reasons why. Choice of 4spd auto or 5spd manual (V8 stuck with 3spd auto). Turbo is quicker. Turbo achieves better fuel consumption. Turbo is a smoother and quieter engine. I have never owned a VL Calais but have driven three Calais turbo autos and a Berlina V8. I have owned a HDT VL Group A, HDT VL Berlina Sport turbo auto and HDT Corsa turbo 5spd. I still want to buy another Group A one day but will never sell the Turbo.
obviously the turbo's are going to get more votes for many reasons including they are injected and the 8's werent and not to mention it is a vl calais TURBO site!

Better yet, inject the V8
I've actually owned both, with the turbo Calais being manual. Was a nice car and bloody reliable and used stuff all fuel. Having already owned a turbo one i then bought a V8 one. but found 260 k's to a tank unacceptable (unless it makes 400hp!!!, which it did not  ) so I fixed that by fitting fuel injection and now i have the economy, the sound and the power (sort of )
