Howdy,
Im after some advice. I am thinking of painting the plastic mouldings that go around the car... in other words the one inch strip. Would I need to strip back the paint or would a rough sand be alright? Im chaging the colour from white to silver. Also what type of paint would be suitable to use?
Cheers :-)
Scott
i think just tape up or remove any of the mouldings and take some time so prep the surfaces properly and go ahead with the spraying.
you may as well get all the prior layers off the mouldings if you can. it probably is a good idea if the paint now is in poor condition. i don't think it would be thickly applied.
acrylic paints are the easiest to use as they are less toxic and easier to work with.
be sure to use a plastic primer to aid in adhesion
dont pull off the mouldings, near imposible to do without breaking them, just tidy them up and paint them on the car, asteroid silver is the common used colour
yeah sorry, don't pull of off the side mouldings! you can't! (you are talking about the door panel mouldings aren't you? tape the *******s
The others on top of the bumpers are easily removed by taking off the bumpers (which is dead easy) i don't think the rear mouldings need the full removal of the bumper
i hope i am not incorrect
Hey,
Thanks fellas I was just about to pull off the side mouldings... would of been a tad expensive if i did  Anyway thanks for all you help, I really appreciate it
